Southampton (H) 19/10 Build-Up & Match Thread

If you think 1-1 is not poor, at home against a relegation favourite, who played absolutely dire, I dont know what to tell you. Your ambitions must be to battle relegation

One shot on target at home against a side that started the game in the bottom three. It wasn't awful but it was far from good. Vallejo and Donk played like they were Ketamined. Cutrone and Raul are not a pair. Still we didn't lose but you can't say many good things about that showing. Like Brighton and Huddersfield here last year for me.

Vallejo is absolutely awful, sunday league footballer. He makes paul mcshane look like fucking alessandro nesta. His passing, under no pressure at all, was absolutely beyond belief.

Should have won that game.

If Bennett doesn't get injured we probably do.

I'd rather draw than lose tbh

We probably should have won but nevermind. We made Southamptons best chances for them.

A bigger concern is the growing injury list.

Vallejo looks a bit pants, i hope Saiss is back soon

I'm still not entirely convinced Doc and Traore can play together, tbh. It just looks disjointed and there's nowhere near the same level of fluency in our play.

(I am aware Doc won the penalty, fwiw)

We could have got cahill on a free for exactly this reason. Instead we gamble on an unknown youth prospect from a different league

Carrying too many players this season. Summer recruitment not good enough.

Cahill!

For FREE. As a backup to the backup- where saiss and bennet are both injured, ie. today. Say what you want, but cahill would have got us an extra 2pt today. As hes been one of the best players for palace.

Most of what you say is inflammatory at best, however, I can't disagree with this.

His wages might have been an issue though

Cahill is not what we needed. If we wanted a slow lump stopper we would have kept Danny Batth
