Southampton (H) 19/10 Build-Up & Match Thread

Fucking running into each other now. Just like watching Ireland vs Switzerland during the week

2 fouls in injury time should have added another 60 seconds no? Why has the ref blown the whistle at 93.25?

I think it’s hard to be upset with the performance. 2 individual mistakes gave them their goal and we had 2 goals disallowed for reasons that didn’t make a difference in the goals being scored.

Behave. We haven't lost, and we haven't conceded 5.

I sometimes wonder if you are a 12 year old posting from an Xbox Live acct because that's how your posts read.

Edit: replying to Monstrum

Should be beating a team like that really, but at least we didn't lose.

Poor. The new signings are not very good.

Not sure that's fair on Cutrone. I like him.

Vallejo was very nervous to begin with. Scary when he is on the ball, he's gonna be a slow burner I think which is not ideal when he is a loan signing. He got better but still managed to gift them the ball in our half too many times.

Standards slipped somewhat from recent weeks but still would've ground out a win if not for Coady making a Sunday league hash of a routine interception.

Think it looked a lot better with the 343 after half time, central midfield hasn't really clicked yet this season so end up just carrying an extra body in there not really doing anything by going 352. Think worth going 343 as the standard for a while now, especially with the return of Jota providing an extra option for that shape.

If you think 1-1 is not poor, at home against a relegation favourite, who played absolutely dire, I dont know what to tell you. Your ambitions must be to battle relegation

Agreed. We didn't look great once Bennett went off.

However we didn't lose, we were unlucky to have 2 goals disallowed and it certainly wasnt embarrassing

All our passes seem to be a bit behind the recipient - makes it hard to get the ball and move forward before being closed down.

I think you can tell we are somewhat lacking in confidence. Add that to our usual slow first game after an international break and the passing can be very laboured. Definitely need to be beating Newcastle and then 14 points from 10 we are in a decent position.

Vallejo is a car crash and I've seen nothing from Cutrone so far.

Think I agree with this. Just need Jota to get back to full fitness (and Neto)

Can we move you on in the next transfer window? You are a right plonker.

Nope, my ambitions are absolutely not that. However I've been watching football long enough to be able see something called perspective - poor draws happen over the course of a season. They always have and always will.

I just dont get my knickers in a twist over them.
