Scottish Independence watch

I see that Andy Murray has made up his mind to support the Yes campaign. Its a pity that arguably Scotland's most famous current sporting star isn't eligible to vote.

Chalk up one No vote.

Apparently a lot of votes have been binned because people have been writing 'FREEDOM' on the ballot paper. :icon_lol:

and will expect English support at Wimbledon, tell him to do one, firmly back in the Any One But Murray camp

I still remember his blithering speech after his title win at Wimbledon. He looked like someone had been dangling onions between his eyes. I'll be supporting Federer next time.

Fucking idiot.

Not the smartest of moves from Team Murray. It'll cost his mother votes on the programme that Langers feels so passionately about.

The countries with which we share a common language, system of laws and culture; countries which aren't in a perpetual state of recession.

Having spent a good few years in export sales all of the above, bar the recession part, mean absoulute sod all when you are trying to get people to buy products. People want to make money, thats all - culture, language etc mean jack in general (unless you get bad PR, but not even that has stopped many companies).

At the end of the day the easiest parts of th world to do business are the EU or the countires the EU (collectivley) has screwed over in bilateral trade agreements.

If you are looking for groqwing economies then there are many better non-anglosphere options too.

Where Jabba? I was in Dornoch between Christmas and New Year last year.

In a previous life, I had friends and relations up in Tain so I visited Cromarty and the Black Isle and some lovely places up there.
That whole area around the Moray Firth is just lovely.

Factory worker Scott Stewart, 24, followed. On his way in, he said he was a yes: “I think we will be better off on our own.” But for those who are hoping that apathy has died in Scotland with the referendum, Stewart added: “This is the first time I’ve ever voted and it will be the last. I don’t understand politics.”

Gah. I cannot stand it when people say stuff like that, wilful ignorance. When I'm King I'm going to have them all have 'I AM A FUCKING IDIOT' tattooed across their head.

More the day goes by I have a gut feeling they'll vote yes.

Unfortunately the Glenmorangie Distillery was closed for the time when I was there. The hotel had a selection of malts to select from though.

tbh, as an english person i'm not that bothered if they do vote yes - it will be a struggle divorcing ourselves, but if they want to be independent so be it.

If they vote no and get devo-max, whilst still voting on english matters i will be annoyed though. As left wing as I am, it is fundamentally wrong - even if we do end up being ruled by in-bred toffs for the another 1000 years at least it will be our fault for voiting for them.

whatever happens after this, no Scottish Mp should ever be allowed to vote in westminster on UK matters , ever ever again.
They have their own nice little parliament, so why be greedy and want to vote in two?, unless one is pretty shit with no expenses.

I'm far from being the world's biggest George Galloway fan, but this is a really excellent 9-minute interview in which he explains the most compelling reasons why Scotland should vote No. He's possibly the most eloquent speaker in the whole referendum, IMO, but I can understand why Better Together wanted to limit his involvement, in case he brought too much baggage to the debate.

I just hope enough people see this and listen carefully before irretrivably changing their future.

I just wonder how would the scots be feeling now if the vote was in the rest of the Uk, with a view to cutting Scotland adrift?
