Scottish Independence watch

I have a feeling that this will be like the '92 election where nobody was voting Tory yet they got back in with a majority. I think opinion poll wise the no's feel a bit oppressed but on the day will vote against

I'm predicting a 57% v. 43% result in favour of No. But I must say the Yes campaign does seem very confident about what they see as a huge, untapped, pro-independence part of the electorate that doesn't normally vote in elections (and therefore isn't showing up in any of the opinion polls so far). Nobody seems sure who these people are, or where they live, or are how many of them there are. I keep hearing a 97% turnout is expected. That is simply colossal. God knows how this could pan out on Thursday.

Avoid TV on Friday if Scotland votes YES. ITV will be cancelling all "normal" TV from 9am onwards should the vote be Yes and BBC are set to do the same.

How will the nation cope without Jeremy Kyle or some house auction shit?

If they fuck around with Sky Sports News, people will DIE.

Reporters will be live outside all Scottish Stadiums...

I suppose they can get rid of Brian Swanson and Jim White. #nogreatloss

However, Natalie Sawyer and Kate Riley are OURS.

If it's no, don't get booking a short break in and around Loch Lomond anytime soon.

I am expecting 60% no to 40% yes.

Had the rules for being at the polling station earlier, and we are not allowed to do any campaigning as such, it's more a meet and greet.
Lycan the police will have a presence at every polling station in the country.

I am actually at a polling station I did not want to do, it's near the council houses, and I know i'll get ripped apart for this, but it's very much a class divide more than religious.. I'll be faced with more yes voters than I would have been at the more affluent polling station.

Lycan, good luck pal, hopefully we will win this, however, this referendum has effectively screwed the UK

Don't worry , you will be quite safe on this forum saying that!!!

On a serious note , respect for doing something that you believe in . For being out there and fighting your cause.I hope you get the result you are looking for.
I don't care who wins . Only that it is peaceful and democratic . What ever the result is , people accept and are gracious in defeat .

Ironically a man who had few friends in England looks like he has steadied the no campaign and seen that they will probably prevail.
Gordon Brown has been resurrected and been very impressive, makes you wonder why they didn't use him from the start.

Are any TV channels showing Braveheart tonight?

Thats what I read first time around. I'm sat next to a Scotsman who is still apopleptic with rage that he hasn't got a vote

A Sky News presenter has apologised for calling a Yes activist "a bit of a knob".

Kay Burley's remarks were broadcast live on the channel when she appeared to not realise she was on air.

First few seconds..

I saw Gordon Brown's speech this afternoon, it was passionate, to the point, and i was very impressed. Is this his comeback?

No chance, Brown's finished with frontline politics. The No campaign should have made much better use of him (and Galloway) though.
