Rugby World Cup Japan 2019

Australia 142 Namibia 0 2003 world cup

South Africa 87 Namibia 0 2011 world cup

South Africa 64 USA 0 2015 world cup

Shows how knowledgeable the TV commentators were.

Just a quick glance at the 1995 World Cup - SA beat Canada 20-0.

NZ beat Japan 145-17 in that one!

We lost 36-0 to SA in 2007 in the group stages, we were horrific.

So apart from the five times minimum it has happened before, it would indeed have been a first...

Well I reviewed the match through again and what was actually said was that if USA had remained scoreless it would have been the first time England would have 'nilled' someone in a World Cup. Sorry.

Piers Francis cited for his tackle in the first seconds of the US game. A high (ish) hard hit but the stills certainly suggest an effort to wrap the arms. He might get away with it. 50-50 call for the committee I think.

Both arms above the shoulder and a shoulder to head contact with both players upright causing a concussion. I think he'll get 3 games.

His head's on the wrong side, even my grandson wouldn't tackle that badly.

Argentina beat Tonga but with nowhere near the margin that England managed

Japan v Ireland is a very entertaining open game so far. Ireland will end up winning but I love the sense of invention in the Japanese play. Its great to watch.

Japan giving Ireland a right test. Cracking open stuff.

Japan very easy on the eye to watch, still expect Ireland to pull away after 60 minutes.

Argentina helped massively by Tonga gifting them the first two tries.
Great to see Japan really giving it some in front of their home crowd. Could top the pool...

Hold on for seventeen minutes and they will because Scotland aren't getting near them playing like this.

Still think Ireland's greater fitness and general big game nous will get them over the line but this is a sensational game
