Rugby World Cup Japan 2019

It would be awesome. In all likelihood it would result in Japan getting to play the All Blacks in the quarters which would be a great tournament for them.

With the plans to reduce the impact in rugby (rightly imo) I can see the Japanese style catching on hopefully.

England’s penalty count already at 4 poor discipline again.

Still a decent start though in terms of territory and a lot of attacking intent. But you are right, this indiscipline would be costly against the best sides in the competition.

The tackles they have checked have proved to be fine, but that first tackle on Binny was a no-arms bash that they didn't check. However, it's not been a dirty game, just hard.

I understand that Reece Hodge has been cited for his no-arms high tackle on a Fijian player yesterday that ended that player's game.

He has, and absolutely correctly. Face high shoulder charge with no attempt to wrap arms at all.

Thought the Tongan one today was an excellent decision by the New Zealand ref. Took his time to take all the heat out of the situation, and then the England player falling to his knees trying to keep the ball under control was what brought the high element into play when the tackle was aimed at waist height really.

England should now get a bonus point in the bank over the remaining time in the match. Tonga aren't really in the game, and England are doing enough. ideStill plenty more to come from Eddie Jones' side.

That's better. The bonus point is likely to be important to ensure there is no danger of a three-way scrap at the top of the pool.

I think the tackle you describe was the one on Watson, which was perfectly fine. The one I'm on about was the earlier one on Billy Vunapola which live was not checked.

England's handling was not that good, but it was a good workout in defensive tackling and I was pleased we didn't give up a try and scored enough for a bonus point.

They are dreadful. I can see Japan beating them quite comfortably and taking their quarter-final place.

Been an open secret that the Japenese management were "targetting" the game against whoever lost today, Scotand play like today, can quite easily see them losing, whole body lanaguage thing was poor, might be something in the rumours before the game about things in the scottish camp not being rosy.

Bonus point win, that would be the objective for this game with no injuries. Good run out for the boys.

I think England can be reasonably happy. Bonus point in the bag, no injuries, and plenty available to improve on when they play the better sides.

Discipline is a slight worry for England, but most of the passing was excellent against a Tonga side that weren't the best. England have to try and get the breakdown cleaner though. Getting pinged out of a game would be annoying and you can't legislate for an over-zealous official. I am sure the management team will be concentrating on that before game two.

Gregor is not a popular bunny and morale isn't good. I wouldn't be surprised if they were on the first plane home.

Thought Wales were going to score about 80 after a few minutes but the second half has been rubbish. Oh well- bonus point win in the bag, but we will hardly be causing Australia sleepless nights with this performance

Thought Wales took their chances well and Georgia didn't turn up until half way through the first half.
Georgia were better 2nd half and gave Wales a sterner workout but Wales were easily the better side and must be glad to get that first game out of the way, having scored six tries and secured a bonus point.

England make ten changes for the game on Thursday against U.S.A.

15 Elliot Daly, 14 Ruaridh McConnochie, 13 Jonathan Joseph, 12 Piers Francis, 11 Joe Cokanasiga, 10 George Ford (C) , 9 Willi Heinz ; 1 Joe Marler, 2 Luke Cowan-Dickie, 3 Dan Cole, 4 Joe Launchbury, 5 George Kruis, 6 Tom Curry, 7 Lewis Ludlam, 8 Billy Vunipola.

Replacements: 16 Jack Singleton, 17 Ellis Genge, 18 Kyle Sinckler, 19 Courtney Lawes , 20 Mark Wilson, 21 Ben Youngs, 22 Owen Farrell, 23 Anthony Watson.

Uraguay battling their balls off this morning. Could well win.

Only 5 minutes left.
