Ruben Neves

The only player that I can remember watching (in the flesh) that I would still just about put above Ruben is Knocker.

Noone comes close in the years I've followed the club, since ca 2000. No discussion. As saud he'd be a real asset to any club in the country, bar possibly Man City who have quality players by the buckets. Imagine the number of assists he'd have this season for Liverpool, pinging it to Salah and Mane!

Craig Noone? He was alright I suppose...

The noises I've heard grown men make while watching Ruben Neves play football this season... I'll never look at AikiWolf the same way again...

I'm always concerned by how you have your hands in your pockets when you watch Ruben......

I said it in one of my post match match reports, bloke behind me said Ruben is the best passer of the ball since Simon Osborn. That's when you know you've made it, Rubes.

Genuinely the best player I've ever seen in our shirt. All the passing is great but I love how he knows where the balls going or the opponents are before it arrives or he's challenged, he is just SO calm and can buy space with quick feet, move it on without looking and always available. His intelligence and anticipation are breathtaking.

I tend to agree but I would place the late Peter Broadbent slightly above knocker Knowles. Different era, I know, but Broadbent's ability to control a game is so similar to Neves; and I have to say that the more I watch Neves with his smooth movement, brilliant sense of where he is, and consummate skill, I think he tops even Broadbent. He is simply magnificent and I'm very pleased that I've witnessed such a player before my days are done. With Wolves almost making the Premier League again, I'm going to have to make plans to take in some games next season. Not so easy to do now that I can't jump on a 59 trolley bus at the Albion pub (which I gather is now called "The Lancaster").

I think I went "ohhhhhwhatafuckinggoalthatis!!!"

Mine was a stunned "holy shit..."

I know his passing is obviously what gets all the highlights but I genuinely think his dribbling in tight spaces might be more impressive. He doesn't show it off much because he's not the sort to go on mazy attacking runs, but the number of times he's received the ball under pressure and just effortlessly manipulated the ball into free space is nearly unthinkable. You could maybe count the times he's been successfully tackled all season on one hand.

If can add tackling to his game, he's the next Xabi Alonso. Maybe not as handsome.

Ruben Neves makes grown men purr. #filth

Being realistic we should get another year out of him here , especially if we buy and build around him for the premier league , if promoted. However Leciester couldnt hold on to Kante even as champions so a good season from Ruben in the premier may attract offers that he and the club find impossible to resist. He is that good.

I am an optimist , but I am a realist. Football has changed and "stay with a club for years" only happens if you at at the very top club ala Giggs, or Ronaldo at Real, or Messi at Barcelona. The rest is all about who wants you and where do you want to play, see PSG and Neymar. Neves is the most technically talented player I have ever seen in a Wolves shirt. He also has an awareness of space and team-mates that puts him on a pedestal compared to others. I hope we get another year out of him to help establish us in the premier league, longer would be great but if someone comes with 50 million and its the right move for the player then he would go with my everlasting thanks and good wishes. I trust Fosun and the current recruiting set up to find " the next Neves" and to supplement it with other decent players to ensure we do establish ourselves as a capable premiership side. That surely, is what the whole Fosun intention has been since buying? If we want to keep players like Neves long term then we must be challenging for things every year and thats a long way off with much to do to get there. Not saying it cannot be done, but in a stand , walk, run project we are only at stand when we achieve promotion, walk when we establish oursleves in the premier league and run when we win something.

Fully agree with Ruben as POTS, but the votes for Coady as an inpirational captain are well-merited. I think Coady deserves his moment when he lifts the Championsip trophy: none of this joint-lifting it with Danny Batth bollocks. Coady has been outstanding this season, on and off the pitch, and deserves that moment of reward and recognition

You will be disapointed then. Batth is the club captain so will be there if/when they lift the trophy. It will be the same as when Henry and Craddock lifted the Trophy

From watching that highlights package - give him too much space and you're fucked. Press him with three men and you're fucked. What's an opposition to do?!

Just gutted the one game I got to this year, Fulham, he wasn't playing. And probably no coincidence that it was our worst performance.

I was surprised just how much time and space Cardiff gave him on Friday night. Played right into his and our hands.

Thats just the way Cardiff play and Warnock rarely changes, regardless of how the other team will play. They gave the midfield v Sheff Utd all the time in the world and even when they played Man City it was the same tactic.

I daresay Danny Batth has been a very good club captain and has done a hell of a lot to help the squad (and indeed the club and the community) off the pitch. His attitude towards not being a regular starter this season has been superb - he's a good pro and is very highly thought of by the other members of the squad. No problem whatsoever for me if they both lift the trophy.

Boro did the same too in the first half he sounded the warning bell with the one Randolph pushed wide and then the second one the resulting corner Boly scored.

Boro tried to at least press us high for 25-30 minutes (cue people saying we were playing rubbish) but they just couldn't keep that up the entire half and we really punished them
