Rob Edwards - the prodigal son returns

If you think I come across as satisfied, then you are mistaken, I'm far from it. But I am realistic given the circumstances. Maybe Klopp would've come, Maybe Fergie might come out of his retirement since we have such a great situation to offer... fool!
In my post you’ll see where I specifically set my realistic preference. And it wasn’t for Klopp, Fergie or Fred Pentland.

Our new manager being a straight choice between two no-marks who both used to work here is not a natural state of affairs.

The conditions for this lowest of low bars are engineered by Jeff and co, the blame doesn't lie at the feet of other Wolves fans for thinking we could do realistically better

Look I get from the surface level it looks an odd choice but go deeper and it makes a bit more sense.
Firstly saying nice things about Boro when he was there etc well yeah all managers do it.
Secondly if he wanted to come here now the opportunity has arisen well he’s going to take it.
The move you want doesn’t always come at the right time so you have to make a ruthless call and trust your instinct.
Boro aren’t in Coventry scenario and well ahead either and could well end up staying down anyway.
I’ve never seen so much media anger about a decision especially from people who’ve probably all made ruthless calls in their careers to get where they’re (Simon Jordan I’m looking at you)
You expect a manager to be loyal but will happily bin them off the moment they stop being useful to you.
Same bloke who thought Lop was right to get out of Wolverhampton because was a shithole.

I’m really unsure on this appointment. Was part of a team that took us to league one before, I’d have hoped for a more exciting appointment…told Boro he wanted one big family, who’s to say he doesn’t do that to us? Glorified car salesman, hopefully I’m wrong.

I think we ALL know that this will be the biggest gig that Rob Edwards will ever have in his career.

I don't know what Edwards' idea of fitness and discipline are like, but I do wonder at the general fitness and stamina levels of our squad are like with us conceding goals in the last few minutes of a game.
I'd like to think this would be a priority.
Does anyone remember Stan Cullis saying it was a disgrace that players weren't fit to play a full game?
And then Bill McGarry brought the army in to get the first team to wear backpacks and had the fuckers running all over Cannock Chase...
Followed by well known match day preparations being held in the Molineux Hotel with Jim McCalliog and the rest having big dinners, a few pints and fags a couple of hours before the game.
I know that everyone has GPS or somesuch stuck to his back on match days and every step and movement is recorded and analysed, but we do run out of steam before the end of games.

Not particularly thrilled by the appointment but have been a bit surprised by the media flack he's taking for making the move.

Is it not weirdly commendable that he wants to come to a club he has an affinity for even though it's a stupid career move?

And whatever nonsense he's spouted about togetherness and how happy he was to be at Boro surely contributed to the vibes that have helped them off to a good start. What is he supposed to say? That he's not fussed and is waiting for a bigger job?

I wonder if there would be this same energy if Boro did actually go for the Cardiff manager, who has also only been there for 5 months.

I've been thinking myself today with Simon Jordan saying he hopes we get relegated and all the other flack, where is all this when clubs like United go after other clubs managers and players? Oh yeah, that's right, the big clubs are ok to cherry pick whoever they like but not clubs like us

Not quite. McGarry had been an army PTI, but he and Sammy Chung would take the training sessions starting with a warm up on Milford Common before doing cross country running on Cannock Chase.

As ive said it’s all surface level judgement from the media.
They’ve looked at both league tables and that’s it.
Trust me if we were sat near the top of the championship and he’d gone to say West Ham there wouldn’t be a fraction of the outrage.
You’d get the comments about its nicer living in London etc and Wolverhampton was shut when I went there stuff.
Hate sounding the victim but we’re an easy target for passive aggressive and direct ridicule from the media because they know everyone will just laugh along with it without consequence.

Wonder what the odds are on Wolves staying up and Boro staying down?
Astronomical probably.
Extremely unlikely with Wolves but would be amusing if it happened.
Think I'd be phoning in to Talksport 😆

Simon Jordan is a fucking thundercunt. Who gives a rat's arse what that waste of skin thinks.
I dont always agree with your more extreme opinions Paddy but you're bang on with this.
Odious clickbaity little man.

Jordan not you Paddy😁
