Relegation Thread 2023/24

It was funny on Wednesday lunch time sat in my car for half an hour listening to Danny Murphy being wax lyrical about Burnley after they beat Luton and stating they’d have no problem staying up.

Far too good for the Championship, nowhere near good enough to finish above 16th at best

Given the teams they've played, I've yet to form an opinion on Burnley, gut feel is they'll be OK in a bottom 6 kind of way though

Dross Townsend to Luton. Look forward to him clearing the roof of the stand with one of his shots at Kenilworth Road before the season's out.

Don't think Everton are picking up much before we play them on 30 December (guaranteed to be below us this weekend now whatever happens later).

West Ham (A)
Brighton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (H)
Nottm Forest (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (H)
Burnley (A)
Tottenham (A)
Man City (H)

Early days but the bottom 5 are looking a bit on their own currently.
Defo, just can't see them winning many. Luton have plenty of fight about them but basically no quality.

I kept an eye on BBC text during the game today, and Martin Keown said Burnley looked like a youth side they were that bad.

Its got to be a worry for current Championship teams that Burnley won the league fairly easily last season but look completely out of their depth this (accepting they've had a fair turnaround in players since).

If Calvert Lewin goes to Saudi in January (it seems Stevie G is interested at Al-Ettifaq) then Everton could be absolutely fucked. Beto is dreadful and Chermiti makes Fabio look like Gerd Muller.

Bournemouth and Sheffield United are the biggest concern having not won a single game. I can’t see any of that bottom five investing heavily in January to get out of the mess either, except maybe potentially Everton.
