REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

What's the solution though? Everyone has to stay where they're born, that's just tough luck?

Maybe a return to how it was pre-2004? Where it was possible and pretty easy to relocate and gain a residents permit provided you had a job. No massive hoops to jump through like the Tories would want like private health insurance.

I'm sure there's a happy medium, there was previously. However, it's too late now as the UK is pulling up the drawbridge, locking down the portcullis and may yet man the murder holes.

Nick Clegg and the Liberals would do and say anything for power, they proved that when they had a coalition with the Tory party.
Look, I don't like Farage, Boris, etc, but you have a habit of calling people names who disagree with your point of view and saying politicians speak a lot of sense, when they say something you agree with. It appears that only people who agree with you talk sense. I find that rediculous.

I have to say I usually agree with the majority of things that Farage says and of course but for him there would have been no Referendum. He has never had to think about what he says first, he just tells it as he sees it. Maybe it's because he has never had to tow any party line, but unlike most MP's, at least he has had a proper job (and he didn't go to University either)

Hes also admitted that the Leave campaign was based on lies.

a) give me someone with the capacity to think about what they say before they say it any time
b) he never has to take any responsibility for what he says, so can spout any old shite with impunity - elected politicians don't have that luxury (or shouldn't have - some seem to have forgotten recently)

He went to that bastion of state education Dulwich College. He went straight into the city and became a commodities trader. Real man of the people stuff.

You mean, "I want to say what I really think but I can't because I'm a sycophantic hypocritical, career politician" ?

But as I keep being reminded, people can't help where they are born and what they are born into and given the chance we would all prefer to go to the best schools and have a wonderful job ? Perhaps it just comes down to whether you like the bloke or not ?

What's worse ? Someone like "Lord" John Prescott ??

Thanks for telling me what I mean. Shame you're wrong.

I mean, "As a person of influence, what I say will have an impact so therefore I should make sure I've thought it through before I go gobbing off." This of course applies more to people who've actually won elections. As you may have noticed, Nige has not been particularly successful in that regard so maybe his "shoot from the lip without a thought" approach isn't quite as popular as you think.

I I recognise the part he played in Brexit.

So it's ok to lie to voters as long as nothing bad happens?

Perhaps they should have said that we contribute £9Billion more to the EU than we receive back. The truth is out there and the bus advert was instantly ridiculed for what is was - another cheap sound bite in an awful campaign. It gives the remainers something to cling onto though. The Corporates are upset that they risk losing their ready supply of cheap labour and to be honest fuck em.
