REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

They are legally wrong in their justification as well. There has been no change of GOVERNMENT. There has been a change of leader of the Conservative party and a cabinet re-shuffle

Such niceties seem no longer to matter. These people can say whatever they like - invariably untrue - without challenge or repercussion.

I think the administration will fall next week. It has to be no confidence on the first day that this is formally proposed as it is the only realistic way to stop it now.

I'm off to download my Irish passport forms.

Bercow not mincing his words. Trouble is Boris has already gone to the Queen. This is a fait accompli and a complete and utter scandal.

Would love to hear Brexiteers views on this after all their shouting about democracy over the last 3 years

Boris just doing what 17m asked for will be their response.

...or is it......

 No.10 threatening an election

"If MPs pass a no confidence vote next week then we won’t resign. We won’t recommend another government, we’ll dissolve parliament, call an election between November 1-5 and there’ll be zero chance of Grieve legislation,” says senior official.

It's professional weirdo Dominic Cummings behind it all, the sociopath. I wonder how he differs from "unelected EU bureaucrats", other than being a malevolent cunt of course.

Is this not their preferred option? Manufacture the conditions for an election, which they presume, probably rightly, they will win against Corbyn. Gain a working majority and then drive through whatever right wing fantasies Dominic Cummings has been pulling himself off over recently.

Plus no deal would occur on the eve of the election unless the EU unilaterally extended as I somehow suspect Boris might forget to ask for the extension expressly allowed in the case of a UK election.

People on the internet expecting the Queen to step in always amuse me. And then I despair at the educational standards of our country.

I think it's a hope that as Boris says fuck you to the rules the Queen would too.

Yeah, like that's going to happen! Anyway, I imagine she's a bit preoccupied worrying about what's going to come out next about her third child.

I didn't say it was likely. More that maybe people aren't stupid but maybe are hoping.

I think this is a terrible move by the Gov't as they will lose any election called as this will piss off MP's and electorate alike.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the stupidity of people on the internet! (He says on the internet)

Do you reckon they'd lose? I think Johnson would romp it against Corbyn. Make all sorts of unkeepable promises about Brexit and anything else that comes into their unpleasant minds, egged on by a pliant press, and the Tory faithful lap it up. Your average Joe and floating voter will be voting on Johnson v. Corbyn and I can only see one winner there.

Get rid of this remainer house of parliament.

I can see it now

I think the Tories would lose MP's (as in their own MP's wouldn't stand) and voters by doing what they are to Parliament. The Brexit Party would steal from the Tories and cut their majority easily.

The best way to stop the Tories is to vote for the Lib Dems.

Labour are not a viable option with Corbyn and until they get a better leader and boot the controlling Momentum (no better than the Brexit Party scum) they have no chance of winning as they are too devicive.
