REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Presumably if making plans and having contingencies is of zero importance, if Wolves ever get promoted again then it would be OK for the club to make no projections and line up no signings in advance?

You wouldn't have it off a bloody football team so I'm certainly not having it off politicians who've just provisionally changed the country permanently.

I must have misread Friday morning dealings. Fair enough. My mistake.

Not even similar, unless you would like them to line up signings for two years time?

Wife is really regretting not selling her Royal Mail shares:

Kicking the can down the road and worrying about a massive issue later is not an acceptable approach to politics. I'm astounded that you think it is.

It's not later though, is it. We won't leave for a long time yet.

And the longer we leave it the worse it'll get. Multinationals will delay investment decisions until the landscape is more certain.

The problem is though, it's difficult to plan anything until they know who the leader is and who his/her team will be.

Yup. Its a shambles.

Boris considering article 50:

The leader is the Prime Minister who led the government into the referendum and then walked away. He should have at least started the process and could have handed over the baton but instead we are faced with a minimum a change in leadership of the government or worse the very real possibility of a general election in the autumn. If it is the latter we are effectively in limbo until 2017.

I suspect we'll have an extended pre-invocation period where the cabinet office spell out exactly what will happen, along with lots of negotiations as to the outline of a proposed deal for leaving.

Then a second referendum which this time will be legally binding. Essentially 'Here are the terms we have agreed with the EU for a departure. Given these are you happy for the government to invoke A50?'. A yes vote = automatic triggering. Then two years to iron out the details and departure by 2020.

The EU is not willing to have any negotiations at all until the article is invoked. The ball is firmly in the Brexit camp.

Yup. They're not keen on us dicking around. Unsurprising.

So we've Cameron saying 'Not my fucking problem' and BoJo and Gove saying 'Can you fix this for us?'

Great.

I've asked valid questions, you've never answered them. You simply move goalposts.

I don't look for arguments, but you post so much $#@!, that it shouldn't be a surprise when you're picked up on it.

My reading of the exchange between you & nimrod (& I hope I'm not putting words in someone else's mouth) is that you evaded the question 4 or 5 times, and then nimrod made an exquisite point about your posting style and you left it.

I'm perfectly happy to debate, and be proven wrong. It happens all the time. But when someone acts the high and mighty $#@!, fails to debate, moves the goal posts, and refuses to maintain the point and evades answering questions, as well as making $#@! up and so on, that isn't debating, that's purely being a prick. It is unnecessary.

I could say you post shit.

That you look to argue not to debate.

You have tried to be personal many times and came off worse.

Your opinions are no better or worse than mine, it's your opinion, that's all

You are a shit stirrer.

A hypocrit.

But do you think you can answer the questions?

Exactly that. The referendum isnt legally binding, and if Labour were elected on a manifesto promise to not invoke A50 then thats that.

Then instantly 17 million vote Tory. Great idea not
