I'm loving it.
May's deal without the 'backstop' or leave with a WTO deal.
Sick of hearing about trade. That should be simple to negotiate.
Sovereignty. Control of borders. No control from ECJ. Elected politicians, who can be voted out. Democracy basically. That's what people voted for.
Corbyn should be the one facing a vote of confidence. He's a zombie leader. Worse than Kinnock.
We had a referendum on it, you lost.Wonder if sometime in the near future we will have to go to some kind of PR....can't see either of the 2 main parties getting a majority any time soon
I think your right Paddy but we are engaged in the subject. Folk will see the news tonight/right wing rags tomorrow see that Corbyn won't meet May and it will go straight into their heads that he isn't trying to deal with her.
How can she take no deal off the table?Yep. One of the first things Mrs Brexit in the office said this morning was that May offered to meet Corbyn but he refused. When I pointed out is was because she wouldn't take no deal off the table, she responded by saying 'well that's the closest to what the people voted for anyway'. Sigh.
How can she take no deal off the table?
How can she take no deal off the table?
Good question. The only certain way would be by agreeing to revoke Article 50 on 28 March if no deal were to be agreed before then
By saying it's not an option. All she needs to do is confirm that if no agreement can be reached then article 50 will be extended/revoked to allow more time to agree a deal.
Well extension needs EU approval I think, are they like to agree to that? Either way it's not something May alone can guarantee right now to get Corbyn to the table is it?
Not sure where revoking it stands either, can she just push that button herself or would that need to be voted on before being undertaken, if the latter then what if the vote didn't win? That could be especially troublesome if it was left until last minute and then you just crash out with no time to do anything else.
I don't see that it can be definitively ruled out, not at this stage either, so he needs to suck it up and get his head in the game, make some agreement to work towards avoiding no deal exit at all costs or something rather than sit there with his fingers in his ears waiting for a promise that possibly can't be made at this point.
We coudl just withdraw it:

And bang it in again to reset the clock if we were that stupid.
