REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

So she avoids a no confidence motion from Corbyn today by putting a date to the meaningful vote (well a rough date). MPs will vote on 14 January. Three more wasted weeks.

What is the point in waiting until the 14th Jan? She's not going to get any meaningful changes to the deal. Get on with it.

Meanwhile no deal preparations are being pushed forward by the Government with £2bn put aside. Just fucking sort it one way or another. What a waste of time and money the whole thing has been so far.

Building panic in sensible MPs that it's her deal or a disastrous crash out.

Yep, it's her unique mix of nonsense brinkmanship and useless can kicking.

It won't work, same as nothing she does works as she is shit.

a mate who's wife works with lots of home office staff has had a trip to new york cancelled, because everybody in the home office has been moved to deal with brexit stuff. Every other government policy has been put to one side.

There has been practically no domestic politics now for about three years. It's scandalous. Councils are literally going bankrupt as we speak.

And as for her performance this afternoon. Not one single substantive answer other than, "but labour" which has now been joined by "but the SNP" and a new star turn "the lib-dems will never be in power".

It's fucking pathetic. None so blind as those that won't see. Her deal is fucking DEAD.

So basically, nothing will have changed from last week til the vote actually takes place. The EU have told her 'that's all your getting - now fuck off' after she went back to them cap in hand, and all she's achieved is wasting time and money.

It's an absolute fucking farce, and she's got the gall to say that a 2nd referendum would damage the integrity of politics? Everything she's done has damaged her integrity - she has absolutely none left!

Worst prime minister in the history of British politics. And that is quite an achievement.

"Dominic Raab, who resigned as Brexit deal over the deal, asks May if all necessary planning for a no deal is taking place, including plans for business taxes to be cut."

It's painfully clear to see where these wankers want this to go.

Absolutely nothing to do with Brexit at all. Nope.

Labour’s parliamentary position is clearer, even if their position on Brexit is not. They are going after the PM not the government. In Corbyn’s response to the PMs statement he asked if collective responsibility of the cabinet still existed, the PM said yes - any resignation would trigger a vote of no confidence in the PM. Losing the meaningful vote deal will trigger a vote of no confidence in the PM. The Conservative MPs who voted against her last week will be challenged - they said she wasn’t the person to lead their party...could they really vote to keep her as PM.

This government is going down, a question of when not if. While I don’t think the Labour Party can win a vote of no confidence in the government, they could very well win one framed around the PM. I can’t see the Conservatives rallying around any candidate for PM in the event Parliament says they’ve had enough of May so extension to Article 50 and a general election in February.

Smacks of rearranging the deck chairs in the Titanic.

If the Labour party were really bothered about workers they would go all out to support the best possible outcome for workers - staying in the EU.

It's the Tory obsession with power, they'd rather piss away a month now and stay at the helm (doing nothing) than admit that it's all over.

What they've done to this country since 2010 is shocking.

At which point the Conservatives call a general election, win a working majority and we get whatever Brexit they want. If Labour go all out remain they lose sufficient votes in the North and Midlands that they are unable to deliver anything.

So power is more important than doing what's best for the country? We do pretty much have two indistinguishable parties then.
