REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

For the record, we're down to 7th having been overtaken by France and now, India due to Brexit.

I merely want to know how (preferably with proof) what we have done is anything more than a mild irritation.

Bye bye Merkel and Cameron. Whatever side you're on that's a result. Boris, Corbyn and several Tories like Rees mogg are also fucked. Let's focus on positives lol

Yeah, we really showed them. Don't fuck with Britain, eh?

Yes if you really want to put it that way.

What I believe is that this whole process needed to happen to show where we were going to be better off, prove the facts over fiction and , yes, show the EU that a country when backed into a corner would vote to leave .

There is no way the EU will be the same now and it will be stronger for it.

The damage Brexit has done. It's even made Cyber take up hard drugs.

Wake up man

World's 5*the biggest economy

Failing to see that is ridiculous.

The way Britain has as a people, been brave enough to take a stand has had a real impact.npolitics this century will not be the same. To think otherwise is blinkered and naive

That is an astonishingly generous reading of what has been taking place in the last three years.

Calling it 'generous' is also very generous. A more accurate interpretation would be 'bonkers'.

Yes Brexit caused Cameron to resign but his resignation is hardly giving the EU a bloody nose.

Yes Merkel is going, but where is your proof this is down to Brexit and wasn't something that was going to happen anyway? She has the added stress of her own country to run and has been doing it for after all.

How is anything that happens to the other names you mentioned giving the EU a bloody nose? With the possible exception of Corbyn, they are by and large irrelevant to the EU.

If anything, the EU will have been shocked (and probably still are to a degree) that we want to leave and they will have learned from this. It is likely that they will make it harder to leave in the future for anyone else.

Wherever this ends up over the next few months other countries in the EU will look at us with a mixture of incredulity, pity and schadenfreude.

What rules, regulations or laws have been changed as a result of this process? Which others countries followed our lead? The concept of a bloody nose is pure folly, the institution has actually been strengthened as its proven to be more powerful than any of its constituent members, even one of its largest three. You can choose to see that as bullying if you like, but they won't.

Yes, Cameron has gone, but has the replacement been an improvement? The domestic agenda over the last two years has been none existent. Merkel's issues have all been domestic and has nothing to do with Brexit.

At least Cyber is admitting it's better to remain :icon_wink:

On the table are three options

Mays deal- shit , dead in the water
No deal brexit- shit no one wants bad for everyone
Remain

Of those three there is only one choice.

We had our say and gave the reasons. Now is the time to admit that it cannot happen. The options are exhausted, the cost too great and the logistics impossible. There is also significant evidence (allegedly) that the vote was interferred with by another country ( like the USA) So lets all unite and get those claims investigated thoroughly.

I have been convinced by 30 months of evidence and 30 months of political incompetence from all the major players that where we are now the only sensible decision is to remain and fight for change from within. The positives could be.

We say we are staying , the pound rises, stocks and shares rise and it weakens Trump and after 30 months of infighting we actually do get our country back , just not in the way Leave thought they would!

Aggers, Vaughan, Shilton and Waddle outing themselves as bitter brexiters today.

Ultimate outcome of all of this - regardless of what happens re Brexit finally - is probably a split in the Tories

Can't see how the extreme elements can stay within the same party now - could change the UK political landscape

I'm not sure about that. JRM and IDS are in power now (although it hangs by a DUP sponsored thread). If they were to break away, they would never be in power again. Also they would know that the likely result of such a breakaway would be labour in power for a generation. Even they aren't mad enough to allow that to happen as it would be utter anathema for them.

Shilton is nearly 70, Waddle is from the NE and Vaughan is a cunt, so I expect little else from them.

Agnew I'm surprised by, I don't like him but I did credit him with common sense.

To give Aggers the benefit of the doubt it's possible he's more of a May fan than a brexiter. The utter weirdo.

I am surprised how quiet the liberals are being and the Green Party. Surely this is a massive opportunity. The tories are clueless and labour are useless so surely you would have thought there would have been a bit more tubthumping from them?
