So, to clarify:
In a best case scenario, we will gain exactly nothing from the last two and a half years - if we ignore rabid fantasies about having to change all the motorway signs to kilometres and us all waking up one Sunday morning with a ton of €1 coins in our pocket rather than £1 coins - but we have almost certainly lost all goodwill within Europe that previously existed, exposed ourselves as hopeless negotiators and strategists, and we had to rupture the country politically to do that (the long-term consequences of which are yet to be seen)? And in doing so, stirred up some horrific far-right movements and increased hate crimes along the way? And paralyse everything else for two and a half years, when there are massive questions on productivity, underemployment, welfare, social care, the NHS? And have Theresa May as PM? And shrink the economy for all this time from where it should have been?
Yeah, great, I'm glad we did that.
It was a dick move from a dickhead of a PM, an incredibly stupid thing to do and if we somehow fluke cancelling it, that still applies.
