There will have to be investment turned on once we leave, theres already news of that being possible due the the deficit reducing - and the money from the eu will be easily replaced by not paying that money to the eu in the first place... but I reckon you know that and have a clever retort? :)

I'm not sure how clever it is to point out that we've got a massive bill to pay before we make any "savings", but there you go :)

I'm not sure where you've got that from but it's flat out wrong.

I know of a company very near you that’s been given £200m for R&D to develop a product that’s not far off what we already have. If I know of an example then how many thousands more are out there?

The government are definitely investing in business.

£200m? Sure it's not European money? That's a serious amount of wedge.

Sounds very high, not seen any government r and d grants above £10m.

I’m sure there’s lots of these type of investment going on that we don’t hear of.

There's a difference between £200m of orders, if you develop, as opposed to a straight £200m to develop something - really can't see the latter ever happening.

So a No Deal Brexit is being referred to as Operation Yellowhammer. The yellowhammer is one of the few British birds to have its song transcribed into words and seems to be saying "..a little bit of bread and no cheese". Is the name a coincidence?

Had a meeting today with 2 men from the Department of International Trade. A pot of £2bn is there for R&D grants but nothing available by way of grants to try to maintain the level of exporting currently in place, which is obviously in danger should WTF tariffs be added to sales to Europe in a no deal scenario. Basically, reading between the lines of what was said, the government is happy with a near zero rate of unemployment that they think is the current case. The grants are therefore to be targeted at new innovation which is probably all being gobbled up by the big boys whereas if you lose your job due the supply chain in manufacturing being damaged then you can always retrain in the care, hospitality or seasonal farming sectors as vast amounts of their current labour resource will be heading home.

I’m sure you can guess who I was talking about.

Yes and I'll never question how a brexit championing / huge donor to the current political party in government could ever secure such funding.

Wouldn't happen to have a big factory near Uttoxeter would they?

No deal Brexit = return of roaming mobile charges.

This is the kind of thing that will finally nudge your egg and chips Brexit sorts into thinking "oh actually, this seems like a bit of a shit idea". Well, maybe.

Hey - at least Mr Rees Mogg has revealed how the Irish border will be dealt with.

"Existing" technology will sort it. Okay, fuckface - what technology you stuck up cunt? Any danger of a little detail as we hurtle toward this fucking shithole of an idea? Just asking...

I don't agree with a lot of what Rees-Mogg says but if the EU agrees to that proposal it would work just the same as any import/ export system. Nothing new there though as I don't think the EU will agree to it anyway unless tariffs are agreed.

On another note, the cunt who staged the stunt to abuse JRM, his family and nanny was treated far better by RM than many of us (including me) would. Bloke deserves a fucking good slap for abusing his kids and nanny.

The guy's name is Ian Bone and I can only wish he gets run over or hit by a public transport bus. Cockpocket that he is.

I have seen reference to that incident but have no viewing of it as yet. Vile snake that Rees-Mogg is, that does not make abusing his kids fair game. Not at all.

Another sign that the polarised views on both sides are going to get more repugnant to each other, and I doubt it will be the last incident of its kind. Brexit makes me die a little more inside every day. Whether you are pro or anti, we are all the same population and I fear the rifts from this will take generations to heal.
