It'll be blanket rejection. The EU will not accept something from a third party (as post-Brexit, we are) that materially damages one of its members.

Four labour MP's voted with the government. There is also uproar that a Tory MP who was paired off not to vote with Jo Swinson, who has just given birth, reneged on the agreement and voted with the government on the key votes.
 
We know who the four Labour culprits are, Hoey, Hopkins, Field and Stringer. Always the same. Awful people, especially Hoey.

The paired MP voting with the government was an honest mistake by the whips. Fucking bullshit.

There's a weird cognitive dissonance in politics at the moment. Nobody agrees with anything anybody else says or does and continues to support them wholeheartedly.

To be fair there probably did exist a version of Brexit that wouldn't have been too unpalatable. Still not really good as such, but not materially disadvantaging us too much. Too late now of course as we've wasted all our own time, we can only get a shit result now (or cancel the whole thing, which is the only sensible course of action, and of course will not happen).

But everyone, without exception should have known that we were never going to get anything decent from the people who would inevitably be charged with running the show. None of this is a surprise. It was handily signposted two years ago. We have merely arrived at our destination.
 
The fact our government is now openly saying "prepare for the worst and hope for the best" means now that the EU fully expects No Deal.

Not a single one of them has told me why they STILL think it's a good idea, and why they'd STILL vote leave if there was another referendum tomorrow. It's so incredibly frustrating.

It's clearly a fucking shambles and I don't want another vote. I want common sense to prevail above party politics and self preservation. It needs to be binned off completely - and yes, I know that isn't going to happen.
 
The Government are reportedly going to issue 70 technical notices to businesses and households with advice for coping in a No Deal scenario.

From there is no downside only a considerable upside in 2016 to releasing public announcements (presumably) telling us to start hoarding soup and medicine.

Surely the government is going to tell us where to park our spitfires,what unicorns eat and how to deal with all the rainbows these unicorns are going to be shitting out everywhere,and how much interest wel'll earn on these million pound notes we're all getting as well.

I was told by well-placed source that a Tory backbencher was texted by chief whip with instructions to break pair on Tuesday night. “That is an order not a request” was how text was retold to me.
