At some point this has to be treated as a vote of no confidence in the Government. They've done absolutely nothing bar Brexit stuff (and not a whole lot of that) for two years now. If they can't get the legislation through then they can't govern.

They have no way on earth of coming up with something that satisfies the over 48% of the population that voted remain. That's a given. We hate the entire concept and the only thing that gets us onside is a second referendum minimum, or preferably wholesale abandonment of the idea of Brexit.

They have no way of coming up with something that appeals to the hardline Brexiteers because their desires are pretty much unachievable without fucking the Good Friday Agreement and also screwing the country financially.

They have no way of coming up with something that the other side of this negotiation, WHO HOLD EVERY SINGLE CARD IN THE FUCKING DECK, will even think about agreeing to.

Difficult to know really. They need to see there's a price to leave or even stay in paralysis. Barnier and Davis was always a red herring at some point Merkel, Macron, May and various civil servants were the ones that will sort something but whether she can sell that to her Party/the country and them the rest of the EU is another thing altogether.
