On another note the wonderful Royal wedding (pewk) at the weekend cost over 32 million. Almost 30 million in security. Still it was a lovely day...................

#wtf?

That wouldn't even buy you Luka Modric for a few years ??

It would, however, reopen Stafford’s A&E dept for children. But, y’know priorities and all that.

correct.

I know I am a complete curmudgeon and while I wish them every success and happiness , the amount we shell out on things like that does grip me a lot

It's less Brexit and more the fact that the current Government are fucking clowns who can't do one thing properly at once, let alone many things. So while they've been busy looking at Brexit for 23 months (and doing absolutely nothing of value in that respect along the way, as far as we're concerned it may as well still be June 2016), everything else has been left to look after itself. Which doesn't work.

Following on from Mr Deutsch's post, the final legal advice the government has been given is that we're legally liable to pay the so called "divorce bill"

Which creates 2 questions:
1 why has it taken so long to get this advice?

2 gove and bojo have repeatedly come out with bluster suggesting we should tell the eu to swivel, and we should not pay them a penny. Clearly they have no idea of the legal implications of whatever they're talking about, or they are promoting we act contrary to the law. I dunno which it is, but either suggests they should be removed from cabinet.

At what point are we going to accept we're being lied to?

Maybe Brexit isn't such a bad idea after all

Maybe a Rap Batte between May, Boris and Davies and the EU is the best way to decide the rules of leaving. Might get things sorted quicker - Lose a Battle = Hard Border in Ireland etc etc

I see arch Brexitwat Nigel Lawson has applied for French residency. Quelle surprise!

Don't see the problem. The vote was for membership of the eu not where you want to live. I love several European countries and would consider retiring there. I would also have to meet citizenship requirements but if that's the way it is heyho.

I didn't vote for my council but it won't stop me living there.

That's surely a windup?

How arrogant do you need to be to vote for something that was supposed to be 'for the good of the country' but then not actually live there?

Indeed. Strip everyone else of the right to move around Europe freely and then settle there yourself.

a failed chancellor who ran away from his responsibilities when the going got tough. he has a massive yellow streak in him.

It's incredible, isn't it?

The arrogance of these people never fails to amaze me. They should be ashamed of themselves for sending the country down this path.

Christ we're fucked

Right I am firmly in the remain camp, but that is heading into almost American levels of scaremongering, I'm assuming these are the same people who said we'd go into the financial armageddon if we didn't join the € ??
Admittedly I will make a full apology if we run out of fuel, medicine and petrol, within two weeks !

The article is written by Tim Shipman, look him up he is very much not a full on remainer.

It's extremely likely to happen imo if we crash out, most of our imported food and meds come via Dover, if full on certificate of original checks are required than it won't function.

Also - it's front page of the Sunday Times, its hardly New European-esque in its remain stance.

Right firstly Google 'Essential Medicines Buffer Stock', secondly nearly 80% of our food is sourced domestically and thirdly the vast majority of imports are coming through the port of London now but that's not as sensational as implying Dover will implode at 8am the following morning !!
What he is saying is correct, in moderation, just cut out the sensationalism and remember I lived through Y2K when planes were going to plummet from the skies !
