REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Thems the breaks Frank. I believe the brexiters said we all need to suffer a bit before it gets better.

The age thing is an interesting one. I would put a fair lump on a remain win if it were tomorrow. All those pissed off sixteen-year-olds from two years ago would get a vote, and of any of them I have seen that gave a shit (a reasonable percentage) they were universally remain

Yep I did. But I still say those in govt and opposition need to look at themselves. History will not be kind to any of them

Don't try and shift the blame cyber. Everything that has and will go wrong is the direct fault of those who campaigned for leave.

Yes the government and opposition aren't making the best of a shit situation, but then they both said it would be a shit situation...

I didn’t vote for reasons I’ve explained on numerous occasions and still believe them to be correct, however if we had another vote, I’d vote remain.
You chose not to vote if I remember correctly because you were unsure what was best for the country, but thought exiting could be best for your business. I'd describe that as a conscious abstention which I totally respect. It's those that voted leave that now claim they were lied to, mislead or blame this sham of a Government for not executing Brexit to their level of expectation who piss me off.

No, it was because long term (about 10 years) I believe we will be better off out of the EU, but the 10 years leading up will be painful and wasn’t sure I wanted to sacrifice the short term for the long term.

Yeah, those that have flipped clearly ignored the facts, but I guess that was because they had their own agendas.

Why? They said it would be a mess and it is a mess.
Because they are ruining Brexit. It's all about the 'Remoaners', not a Government who 2 years after the vote still don't have a coherent negotiation position. TM The Daily Mail/Sun

Best I don't get involved in this debate. Having been called a racist, and being banned for three months for having the temerity to defend myself, I will leave the members of this one sided, left wing leaning forum to all agree with each other on this subject.

And if we had a referendum tomorrow I would still vote to leave.

Preferably not. Otherwise I only have a few years left...

You think you have problems Frank - I've got 20 months left on that basis (though my Mother always said that the natural span was 3 score years plus ten though went on beyond that)

Think that a 'number' of the out voters expected the EU to negotiate reasonably - never thought that that was likely as they really don't want to encourage others

You already did and you know as well as I do that's not why your account was banned.

How about you try something new. Join in a debate and not act like a stropey 9 year old when you don't agree?

You made a point earlier...you are asked why and your response is to moan about shit that has no relevance and to have a pop at other members who hold a different view to you. Would have been better if you had just ignored the response really. What was the point of that reply? Attention seeking or just unable to defend your point of view?

Not entirely sure I would class myself as left wing, I work in an arch-capitalist profession and there are probably literally 100s of posts from me on this forum saying trade would screwed. Free trade is not known to be a left swing staple.

Not sure why you think racism is involved, I've never thought you racist. Misguided perhaps.
