REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

What? He's not said anything new in that article... In fact all he's ever said is that we won't be giving the UK any kind of glass slipper on trade.

It's too early to say Leave voters were right or wrong. Though the stock market responses are not particularly promising.

He said the special relationship, willl still endure.

Which doesn't mean we're going to act like you're still part of the world's largest consumer base. You're not. That's the harsh reality the UK now has to grapple with.

So what will change? I'll tell you, nothing nor will it with China.

The only changes will be with the EU.

Many people are putting thoughts forward. It's a relevant point about Obama, he tried to say we wlouldn"t have a special relationship, to influence are democratic process. He has gone back on that now. That is very relevant. Why don't you mind your own business and stop being obnoxious and know it all?

As Alan has pointed out there's nothing new there. Much like most of the stuff you post.

Your last sentence and your posts over the evening tell me exactly the type of person you are. Embarrasing.

Trading with the UK is now less profitable than it was yesterday. That fact alone necessitates change.

How is it?
You have less money. For one, the USD appreciated today while the GBP depreciated harshly. For another, the UK also has less weight in terms of consumer base. Whereas prior to this referendum UK businesses could easily argue that investment in the UK would spill over to the continent, now there will be much larger barriers in that monetary canal.

Fuck me Craig you haven't got a fucking clue have you. The US are going to make us a pariah.

Apologies, I shouldn't use "you" when referring to your government. Too accusatory and adversarial. My bad.

$#@! me Craig you haven't got a $#@!ing clue have you. The US are going to make us a pariah.
I wouldn't go that far. Assuming the UK doesn't up and leave NATO as well the US will still need a healthy relationship with the British.

Just because I think the UK has lost significant economic leverage today doesn't mean I believe they're suddenly Iran 2.0.

If everyone posted, stop tallking bollocks, because they dont agree with something the forum wouldn't be a good forum. Generally it's only a few people who do it and you more than most. If you can't post without being gobby, i dont know why you bother. There is a golden rule to forums, don't mouth off behind a computer screen!
You do a few decent post, but as the day goes on, you start to lose your sense of perspective. I suggest you go and see a Doctor and ask him he's got anything to help you with your problem.

The UK trading with the U.S. will happen the same tomorrow as yesterday, the only time that will change is if it causes a recession.

I'm not sure we'll lost that much leverage as other political forces will have an effect on the trade relationship. Other than the pound devaluing I can't see how trade will be immediately different as Europe has just split rather than become 2 different markets.

To our advantage we can now derail TTIP so that gives us a big advantage. Our disadvantage is that we will be uncertain and I can see a few US banks wanting to move from the city.

I don't think so. I think when current contracts start running out the UK will find the competition for renewals is suddenly much more crowded.

You have a lot to say for a man who literally had none on the vote. I think telling Slink how to act and now me to behave on a forum after your flounce from the other week is a bit rich. And now you're acting like a mod too. I think you should let the mods do their job don't you?

You clearly have little shame, and yes you do spout utter bollocks and I wish you'd stop it.

The net import difference is about £1b, so I'm not really sure there is any reason to rock the boat.

From your perspective, items will be cheaper and companies only really care about price and quality, so why would you change?

I know what's upsetting you so much, it's the thought of having to employ those ungrateful British workers, now your cheaper exploited immigrant scource has dried up!

01782 213555 it's your local branch of the Samaritans in Newcastle under lyme. They might be able to help you out.
Night Johnny!!!

In terms of purchasing, it's good for us. Equally, it means the UK has less puchasing power of its own.
