REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Just had a read about passports, and read this:

Only UK and Irish are not obliged by EU law to contain fingerprint information in their chip.

How many of these EU laws do Countries opt out of?

But you have not shown me why! I can't find it in the treaty. It is open to interpretation so therefore should bed explored as an opportunity. Come on lawyer! Make the case or show why it can't be done

Stop constraining yourselves with what exists now. The game has changed

No it hasn't. Not on that point at all. Not an iota.

For it to have changed you will need 27 other countries to agree to this fundamental change. Which disadvantages their citizens and so is not exactly likely.

The precedent in Cyprus is a hard land border between the two nations that share the island. No integration between the EU and non-EU sides at all.

You're proposing the opposite, for which there is no precedent, you're basically kicking NI out of the UK and using it as some sort of buffer zone outside of the border. That simply would not be tolerated.

Why? It ticks lot of boxes for both sides?

You cannot kick the northern irish out of the fucking union just to get some bizarre border control fix-up you want.

It's fucking ridiculous.

because it is unique in Europe. A 2 country island one half in the EU the other subject to brexit and neither wanting a new border

We will. And when we have I will ask you to bend over and take your medicine. I will administer it personally. With great pleasure and with much aplomb. I will of course charge the video.

I remain convinced we will be better off but can't prove it. You remain convinced we will he worse off but can't prove it. Time Will tell.
Not unique (not an island) if you consider Gibraltar.

Fuck them mate! This is a negotiation. You set out what you want and then both sides compromise or not then there is final agreement. Nothing ius off limits! Fuck it. Go for everything.

Hmmm

So you want to negotiate by expecting the other side to allow you to fuck them up the arse.

Spectacular.

Why don't you propose kicking Cyprus out of the EU and let the Turkish have the whole island while you're at it? Bet that'd go down a treat too.

Because that's not what they want. Let me put Facts simply

Ireland north and south don't want a border
Ireland is an island
Border controls at points and airports exist
Ireland is unique north and south

I say look at the possibilities

Northern Ireland wants to stay in the Union.
Removal of them would be an open invite to complete break up as Scotland and probably Wales would immediately want out too.

Your idea is fucking crackpot. It was several pages ago, and nothing has changed about it whatsoever.
