REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Because too many people looking after themselves have resulted in the situation of people that are poor and vulnerable in society

We're all waiting for the rich and powerful to lead by example, so it can then trickle down through the middle classes and show the Plebs how to be nice.

I am intrigued how Frank could digest and dismiss a 24 minute video in only 12 minutes though.....

When I posted links from Brendan O'Neill, I agreed with him that The Left should have owned the Leave campaign.

I critiqued that article at great length at your invitation, it was absolute bilge.

Well, yes. But not many experts are professors of EU law.

How plausible is it to give you an unbiased link ? The Daily Mail ? Exactly, that's what I thought. I've read articles over the last few months predicting the demise of the EU. Here's one, http://www.pravdareport.com/world/europe/15-03-2017/137108-european_union_collapse-0/

But it's Russian. They would say that wouldn't they, but it's an interesting insight nonetheless.

I would like to refine the search so what would you call a credible link from an Expert or Economist who says the EU is collapsing ?

Jean-Claude Juncker said that the EU could fall apart, but if it does he would blame that on Brexit negotiations ?

So many people protecting their own interests.

How about Allister Heath, Business Journalist, writes for The Telegraph. Too right wing ? To much of a Brexiteer ?

It's a tough ask to find someone who thinks the EU is crumbling that people on both sides would respect ?

If they can back up there claims that the EU is 'crumbling' I would respect them. If they are spouting rubbish with nothing to back it up I won't

But surely that's just down to opinions ? When people read an article, some people will think it's spot on while others will think it's spouting rubbish. How do we bridge that gap ?

The point the prof. is making isn't necessarily that Brexit is bad, more that it will be a massive ball ache. You may still conclude that its worth it. But anyone who saw David Davies in front of the select committee yesterday would realise that the prof. is spot on. All of the challenges with customs and trade and courts and do on are all very real.

By backing up their claims with evidence, facts etc....

If I turned round and declared this evening that grass is red, and anyone who thinks it's green is wrong, I would be roundly dismissed. However, if I provided proof of red grass - bingo - backed up my claims.

If these are 'experts' and they say the EU is 'crumbling' surely they have some evidence for this, rather than just their opinion.
