REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Moved into first house with the misses last Friday, house prices are therefore what concern me the most in the short to medium term. We were planning to overpay on the mortgage anyway but may well have to up the monthly amount now so that hopefully we don't find ourselves well and truly up $#@! creek in five years time. I imagine many others in a similar position will do the same, can't be good for the economy surely?

As an aside, the next time the other halfs parents (both of whom voted out) mention the possibility of babies to me in the future, I might have to bite my tongue.

Trying to sell mine currently and very tempted to take it off in the near future.

Green fields, cheaper houses, more chance of work, we will have to train our own people to do jobs instead leaving working people on the scrapheap and employing cheap immigrant labour. Less traffic and i hope higher living standards.

* Conservatives are building on the greenbelt to reach housing targets. Immigration counts for 0.5% of the population and this will continue to rise so I wouldn't count on green fields.
* I live in the Rhondda. Whilst houses are cheap anyway a decrease in housing prices means that moving isn't an option as we wont get back what we've paid for in renovations on our house
* Given that jobs will be lost, especially where I am, I don't see there being more chance of work in my field locally any time soon (university research will no longer be funded by the EU)
* Foreign Labour into somewhere like the NHS is due to the government not training enough and you're assuming that people want to re-train for a different field
* Traffic will still go up due to population increases.
* What living standards are these?

If it wasn't for foreign workers majority of factory's production lines would stop production immediately.

I doubt it. There are plenty of British workers out there who can't find jobs.

I'm not surprised that Wolves fans voted to reamain..... in the Championship.

Apparently a coup attempt was launched against Corbyn during the shadow cabinet meeting today.

The traditional heartlands of the Labour part in the north virtually all voted to leave, London voted to remain, that is the heartland of the Labour Party under Corbyn, he can't be fucked off fast enough.

Ok, the dust is starting to settle and there's a whole new future ahead
Those who voted leave obviously could see something I couldn't.
So, as someone who is feeling pretty pissed off at the moment, tell.me, lighten my spirits, what do I have to look forward to?

Another twenty years of Championship football.

Well they will need to employ British workers in the future, too!

Really how come is it every food factory I go into as a contractor they're are recruiting staff regularly and not one who applies is a British national?

I don't want another seudo-tory in charge of the Labour Party thank you...I voted for Corbyn and am happy with him. The Blairites can feck off and join the Conservatives

Delighted with the result.

The FTSE better than I thought it would be -3.8%
Pound stabilised at €1.24.

We can now look at ensuring the British Economy flourishes, no more getting trains built in Mainland Europe, putting British workers on the dole, we can now give our companies the business.

We can control our own migration, we can decide who we want.

Sounds daft but this country feels different to me this morning, think I've misunderstood how the people of Britain view Europe and politics.
I'm trying not to but simply can't help feel anger to the majority of over 65's who have voted the way they did, I include my own family members in that to.
For me it's such an inward looking decision.

The country feels different to me today too. It's not a country I like very much, feel proud of or want to be part of at the moment.

At the moment Corbyn is one big fudge. He cannot lead the party in the style he'd like because of the PLP. His views may be consistent with those that elected him, but aren't with the majority of his MP's. I do think the party would be better served splitting.

We have all sen the premise that it is the older voter who has dragged the younger out against their will & whilst I can find details of the % in/out split for the various age groups have not (yet) been able to find the turnout % split into the same age groups.

We are told that older voters are more likely to turn out & if that is the case then the result has gone the way it has for that reason

There was a simple solution to that if others could be bothered to take part

Have a look at every production line especially in the food industry remove all the foreign workers and then try and fill it with unemployed British workers ill guarantee you'll struggle.

We don't want them cheers very much.

Corbyn is going to be toast. Your vote for him will be overturned Mike. Blairism will see this as an opportunity to re-take control of the party, in the same way as the demise of Dave is going to see the hard right buffoon element of mine lust for power and probably get it.

What a truly depressing day.

Probably because they know foreign workers are generally more reliable, have less time off and are more willing to work overtime when asked.

And I'm being very general in that statement before I get responses!

Are you looking forward to the forthcoming Scottish referendum too?
