REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Two Labour MPs have submitted a motion of no confidence in Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Margaret Hodge and Ann Coffey confirmed the move in a letter to the chairman of the Parliamentary Labour Party.
The motion has no formal constitutional force but calls for a discussion at their next PLP meeting on Monday.
It will be up to the PLP chairman to decide whether it is debated. If accepted it would be followed by a secret ballot of Labour MPs on Tuesday.

Which side were they on, Brexit or Remain?

It's only 2 people. The chair of the PLP has to decide whether to debate it or not. If they do it could then get voted on and as Kenny says that would only end one way. The bigger issue is for the 3rd time in just over a year there has proven to be a massive disconnect between the PLP and those who traditionally support it. UKIP votes at the GE, Corbyn being elected and now this. If Corbyn is forced out I can see the party splitting SDP style

I read somewhere that around 70% of Labour supporters voted to remain?

Corbyn got such a big mandate to lead from the Labour Party members that if they do vote to remove him there could be an almighty backlash

In other words, ignorance? It might not be popular among some posters here but I don't much care - very many, possibly even the majority voted leave out of ignorance. I even had my sister telling on FB she voted leave and joking that she hopes the Germans don't throw me out, well I hope the company she works for doesn't do too much business with the EU because if she finds herself out of work within the next few years she'll be on the streets with the precarious situation she's already in.

Perhaps, or at least naivety for some. There's plenty in the media banging on about how this that and the other are the fault of the EU or immigrants and if people just take that at face value then you can see how they'd be easily lead, I'd imagine from my sister's point of view she probably didn't care a great deal either way but the almost constant whinging from her husband would've swayed her to vote leave. I'd have thought they might have been bit more cautious being just a few weeks into their first mortgage, the deposit for which came entirely from family members as they had zero savings of their own, and they've got a child on the way so their income is going to take a big plunge anyway for a good while, it doesn't seem like a position that's well set to deal with such a gamble if it doesn't pay off.

Looking things selfishly, I was hoping I could perhaps have bought my own place by the end of the year, I'm not sure that looks such a wise decision now, banks are surely going to be a lot more picky with their lending, house prices will likely go a bit mental and until they settle down it doesn't seem a great time to buy, not that I'd consider myself anything like an expert, and with their being at least 2 years until any breakaway actually happens then who knows when things will actually settle down, how long are my plans likely to be delayed?

personally i think it's only been the FPTP voting system and key politicians desperate desire for power that hasn't stopped the major parties breaking up already. as this referendum has demonstrated, not simply with the "in"/"out" but the manner in which it was conducted, there are significant conflicting views at the top of both the parties. speaking nicely about each other after the event doesn't really resolve anything.

Ok, the dust is starting to settle and there's a whole new future ahead
Those who voted leave obviously could see something I couldn't.
So, as someone who is feeling pretty pissed off at the moment, tell.me, lighten my spirits, what do I have to look forward to?
