REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

If you don't understand something it's best not to pretend you do and leave the thread with whatever dignity you have left.

It isn't even interesting anymore.

Does an EU commisioner take an oath and swears allegiance to the interests of the EU and not the country that sent him there?

Can I vote to remove any of the commisioners if they make a decision I don't agree on?

Which part of the word democracy don't you understand?

I might be on my own and you disagree with my points, I can accept that, but don't make out because you are in a healthy majority on this forum that you know more about this subject than I do.

So you broadly agree with five of the 12 (let's not get into a back and forth about the points you've made for now).

Do you not think it would be a good idea to push the Government to take actions similar to the five you are in favour of rather than sitting back and letting them take an extremely poorly conceived course? What so far in the process do you think May et al have got right?

I think May made a mess about trying to bypass parliament, otherwise I am with the other 60%, I think she is doing fine ( to do with Brexit that is).

I think you're being pretty generous with that interpretation of his answer.

Haha, I know I shouldn't encourage you, but this forum wouldn't be the same without your pissed taking. I find you quite unoffesive now, which might not please you.

Does an EU commisioner take an oath and swears allegiance to the interests of the EU and not the country that sent him there? Yes - because the whole idea is togetherness. And?

Can I vote to remove any of the commisioners if they make a decision I don't agree on? YES YOU CAN. FOR THE 4,979,678,456,000TH FUCKING TIME

It is patently obvious you democratic pygmy.

With love xxx

Dan got me thinking with his questions. Here is one for the leavers.
Hopefully we get a deal that suits us both, but if we don't,
Now that we are leaving the EU, do you support the UK in getting a good deal out of the negotiations, or do you support the EU playing hard with us and making us pay because we chose to leave the EU?

Same way as teachers who hated Keith Joseph in the eighties did. Or tried to. You vote out the SOVEREIGN GOVERNMENT.

Hey - you have a bonus. With a Spanish wifelet you can vote out two of them!

I support the good deal for the UK. I'm going over to Brussels for the duration of the event with scarf and singing voice to cheer our brave negotiators on.

Blair makes a good point - its not unreasonable to change your mind as circumstances change. If the post-negotiation reality doesnt match the expectation laid out during the referendum campaign then people have every right to reject the deal on offer.

That can only happen by a second referendum I guess. And if A50 is done then god knows where we leave us

The same way you do with any other government decision - vote for someone else next time.

Voting for a different UK government won't change a decision that has already gone against us though. That commisioner we send there, now has nothing to do with our government, he has sworn allegiance to the EU and not a member country. He is no longer representing the UK but the EU.

He said the same thing 7 months ago. The more he opens his mouth, the more convinced I am that we made the right decision. He is a war criminal, a liar and undemocratic. How you can listen to this bloke is beyond me. He doesn"t care about anyone but his own ego.

If the Will Of The People seems to swing towards Remain as negotiations progress, should we ignore that?

I wish you'd stop calling people undemocratic it really is tiresome and untrue.

Just because people don't agree with you and point out the flaws in your argument doesn't mean they dislike you personally so don't take it as so.

My point also stands about things you don't know. It is clear you do not understand how the EU or UK democracy works so may I suggest you read around it first before clinging to poorly thought out arguments.

Again not personal.

I want the UK to get the best deal we can. It would be perverse to want anything else. However - if we behave in an antagonistic, intransigent fashion as we have done, then we'll get a shit deal. We also don't have anything like the required people to pull it all off. It's not realistic, I want Wolves to win every single game for the rest of the season but it's not going to happen.
