We could have raised taxes to fund infrastructure without leaving the EU and the single market, thus depriving millions of birthright citzenship and shutting off our biggest trading partner.
Very few of the problems that the UK faces have been caused by the EU, directly or indirectly. It's the wrong target.
I agree but no one would have voted for it. As you sew so shall you reap. The increasing population is what has caused the issues this century coupled with under investment. That highlighted the fact more people were coming in than leaving. So its only the tip of the ice berg but stopping that flow is seen by many as a start point. That I believe is what happened.
