REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

We could have raised taxes to fund infrastructure without leaving the EU and the single market, thus depriving millions of birthright citzenship and shutting off our biggest trading partner.

Very few of the problems that the UK faces have been caused by the EU, directly or indirectly. It's the wrong target.

I agree but no one would have voted for it. As you sew so shall you reap. The increasing population is what has caused the issues this century coupled with under investment. That highlighted the fact more people were coming in than leaving. So its only the tip of the ice berg but stopping that flow is seen by many as a start point. That I believe is what happened.

Wonderful flatfoot. Wow Brexit is happening! I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with what it will actually mean. Oh and I'm sure you realise that there are lots of reasons why our population has increased.

It's gutless leadership really, I happen to think it would be a vote winner to increase taxes by a small amount if it were then 100% mandated that all the extra money raised should go into the NHS.

Fat chance with the Tories of course. We know what they want to do with our health system.

I would vote for the party who openly did that with taxes blue red orange ukip SDP dont care. The fact that none if them will put a manifesto together that is that open is moot.

Yes. We are living longer for one. We are breeding too . But the reality is who pays for it? No one votes for increased taxes. I would invest in going after big corporations who pay fuck all like Starbucks and apple but then they put up their prices so the consumer pays. May as well tax the consumer first off and cut out the middle man! Explain wonderful flatfoot I don't understand

I don't want a fight I want a debate. If I wanted a fight I would choose a boxing ring not a forum lol !

Blair and Brown raised National Insurance by 1% in 2002 for the NHS. There is talk of Labour proposing the same again, I look forward to you voting for Corbyn if they do.

Unfortunately there is no debate. You are entrenched in your views, so nothing that I post will change that. Sorry, I missed the comma between 'wonderful' and 'flatfoot'.

If Corbyn proposed 25% and 45% and guaranteed investment in the NHS housing infrastructure post brexit I would suck it up and vote for him. The positives would out weigh the negatives.

You have just said that you would vote for increased taxes. I would vote for increased taxes and I bet there are a few more on here would do the same...assuming they agreed with what the taxes were to be used for.

That begs the question - how do you conclude that no one votes for increased taxes

I've found Cyber in the main very reasonable on this thread and it's pre-runner. I fundamentally disagree with him, but he puts his viewpoint forward, answers other people's questions and doesn't make bollocks up....It's the cricket thread where he speaks horseshit😉

Recent history! I would ONLY do it post brexit

Right , back on topic. Brexit is happening and Corbyn says he will increase taxes by 5% to base asnd higher rate but invest all the money in improving the health service, improving the roads, improving housing post brexit. We are out of ther EU . Who would vote for him?
