REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Well if Schaubler's current negotiating tactics with the Greeks is anything to go by, He, and Merkel are thinking about the German elections and fuck all else. He single handedly has re awoken grexit, and is totally against the agreed debt reductions, running contrary to Dussellbloom and others.

I'm kind of coming round to this way of thinking - the eu is so inefficient there's a good chance that any agreement that is negotiated won't be ratified for donkeys years (if at all). On the plus side at least we can get agreements with the likes of Canada and Australia pretty quickly, whilst the eu continues to struggle to get anything done.

The main point is that there will be NO free trade deal. That has been blindingly obvious from day one.

Look i am not harping on about the result, that's done and gone, but anyone pottering along under the assumption that we will get a nice soft Brexit filled with all the goodies and more, that Cameron asked for and got short shrift, think again.

The EU is in turmoil, with trade, finance, the refugee situation, Turkey and that nice Erdogan, the Vladivar four or whatever they are called (hungary et al), to name but a few problems, and none of that takes in the up and coming, and by no means certain, elections many of the incumbents face,(some for the third of fourth time with no previous success for a majority) and a blind man can see that any soft choices given to Brexit will result in the current big boys being trampled to death in the stampede for the door.

All of that is assuming that the Eu members can actually agree on anything anymore.

Immigrants earn more than their British counterparts, there you go THM.

Good luck to them. If they pay their taxes, are legal and contribute to society, I have no problem with that.(As long as we can check their teeth first).

Ministers have no plans for brexit:

UK ministers handling Brexit have "no idea of their plan", the chairman of the European Parliament's foreign affairs committee has said.
German MEP Elmar Brok told the BBC that "reality" had "not arrived" in London and a "realistic plan" was needed.
It was wrong to think the UK could stay in the single market without "minimum" commitment to its funding, he said.

And parliament likely to vote on any brexit deal:

But hasn't your argument always been that immigration is reducing the amount of companies wage bill and stopping UK nationals from getting jobs as they are paying immigrants less?

There's a bunch of immigrants paying hundreds of thousands of pounds of tax every month and they're very well known too. From all over the world and pretty wealthy spending their money in UK shops.

Funny how everybody accepts these economic migrants with open arms every 6 months.

My argument has always been, that the governments of this country have not built the infrastructure in place to cope with the increase of population. This drives down living standards of the many people and most of all, the poorest of society.
I have no problem with immigration, if you have enough hospitals, schools, Doctors surgeries and work.

I find this teeth checking nonsense very offputting, stupid and dog-whistle politics at it's worst. We're talking of a few hundred unaccompanied children and youths. You could let in the whole camp including adults, hang, draw and quarter them and you'd still only end up with one body part for every 6 sq. km - hardly swapping the place is it?

And while checking teeth can tell if an adult is fully grown (over 21) it can't determine if someone is 16,17,18 or 19.

So is this not, intrinsically, the fault of the Government and not the EU?

I was taking the piss about the teeth part. I thought it was obvious.

Wasn't really but my comment wasn't aimed at you personally rather the MP who suggested it, though I doubt he'll read it. Glad to see the government has put the mockers on their MP's suggestion.

How?? That makes no sense. Especially when you, yourself said:

"the governments of this country have not built the infrastructure in place to cope with the increase of population"
