REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

So from three brexit posters on this thread, two live in the EU and one wants to.

There is a well known phrase which comes to mind.

My main motive for wanting Britain out of the eu is that I want Ireland out too. I want to see the whole thing disbanded. Simples. An end to the failed experiment. An end to globalisation. An end to big business and their mates running the show. Power to the people. The workers would all be a lot better off if we weren't funding the parasites at the top.

Oh, right. It's a proper socialist vision you have. Weird how that hasn't come across in your previous posts.

Not so. It was founded in 1950 by Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands as a means of securing a peaceful continent after such a bloody period of warfare. It was always intended to be a political as well as economic union. Those countries did well economically out of closer cooperation in the '60s and the oil crisis of the early 70s and resulting economic difficulties prompted the UK, Ireland and Denmark to request membership.

The UK might have only wanted an economic membership of the club but that was never the sole purpose of the EU.

Big of the Germans to be wanting to secure peace in Europe.
They had a couple of bashes at ruling the place by force, got a couple of beatings killing millions in the process then decided to try plan B I reckon. :)

Yes. Call it socialism if you must. But everyone would have to contribute though. It wouldn't be the liberal lefty theoretical islington sort.

Great. So a socialism for everyone across the country? What could we call it? How about "national socialism"? That has a nice ring.

As long as it doesn't get out of hand and start marching all over the continent. Might work? Everybody contributing and reaping the rewards. No more lazy days for those at the top, middle or bottom. White, black, brown, yellow you name it. Trains might even run on time. :)

Not sure that sort of inclusiveness is going to sit too well with your fellow Brexiters. You want to watch yourself - you might be marked out as one of the socialist elite!

Ha. I know it could never work because human nature being what it is people would start to abuse their power. I can hear the tramp of jackboots coming up the drive now, the mods must have found my address :)

I've never been called a socialist before nor elite come to think of it.
Working class me and proud of it.

Yeah, sorry, you've not made the grade. The Socialist Elite isn't for the likes of you.

Awesome, just $#@!ing awesome. Going to be many hundreds of Euros if not more out of pocket applying for various citizenship's and passports just to keep the rights I already have. Thanks dickheads.

Oh dear it gets worse. Please blame an arrogant remain campaign led by incompetent Cameron and an even worse apathetic Corbyn who backed by the EU thought we Brits would tow the line then fuck off. Wrong again

So because there was a political ideaology you didn't like in a country you didn't live in, you feel it is ok to change the politics in that country?

There is no way on this planet it will end globalisation either. Indeed a main premise of the out campaign was increased globalisation.

Sits fine with me mate. Better than the failed experiment of the EU or multi cultural Britain where different culture just stick together. You see we brexiters arent so extreme.

You're fucking joking, right?

I thought this was the will of the people? In which case I'll happily apportion a fair section of the blame towards the people who've voted for us all to lose rights that many of us held very dear (which is a point you don't seem to understand at all).

Blame stock markets and the same investment banks, that backed remain. They are attacking the pound, to try to influence a softer Brexit. They tried their hardest to influence the democratic referendum result and failed, so know they are trying to influence political decision. It is like the remain camp are happy if there is bad news. It doesn't suprise me how the socialist elite show their true colours. Stock markets, multinationals, investment banks, anything but backing the workers, their own country and the will of a democratic vote, that they lost.

There are going to be plenty of fluctuations, up and down over the next two and a half years. However I am convinced at the end of it this country will be stronger and better off for leaving the current iteration of the EU. Its a shocker and has little resemblance to what we joined
