REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Absolute bollocks Mark. Absolute bollocks.

Nope.

He's merely through out some pie in the sky thinking for you to avoid being stuck in a non-EU UK, that you're seemingly dead against, but it apparently isn't a viable option for you, which I wouldn't expect it to be for many people. I don't see what's so disgraceful there, it's not like he's sending naughty Nigel round with his crazy mates to turf you out of your house and send you packing to Spain or wherever.

You're taking a throwaway comment to heart for no reason.

Whatever. I doubt you could be arsed to vote so I will consider your opinion appropriately.

That is a significant difference in a mentality. British mentality rarely tends to want to live and work abroad long term. European countries merntality seems to encourage it so much more and the option often appeals and is taken up. I put that down to English being so widely taught abroad and to a high standard.
Paddington I meant no offence.

I worked in Luxembourg in my time. I have no problem with that. My problem is with Brexit supporters suggesting I should leave my home. I find that fucking offensive no matter how you dress it up in nicety window dressing.

Way to be wrong there Padster, I voted remain so I'm as disappointed as anyone with the outcome, I think the economic instability we're already seeing is probably the tip of the iceberg but there's nothing I can do as an individual to change it now, just got to ride out the storm and what happens.

I too find myself in a position where I couldn't really explore moving abroard, perhaps if I was in a more senior position in my career with more in demand skills then I'd explore moving aboard though I'd be limited to English speaking countries so immediately reduces the scope for that. So I can't really do a lot other than look to protect my own interests for the time being and hope when it's all been sorted out I'm not too set back by any changes, I'd have liked to have bought my own place by the end of this year but now with all the financial uncertainty it's not looking like a great time to make such a move, perhaps sitting on that decision for a while will provide a bit of a silver lining to this whole mess if property values decline drastically.

You feel free to just sit in despair at everything though and get ratty with whatever little comment anyone makes, whatever keeps your world spinning.

Why? Because you don't like what is being said to you Cyber? Set up your little xenophobic state. I don't care. Maybe make it outside of Europe. Perhaps in the Pacific, or at the bottom of it, ideally.

In fairness I said that out of exasperation as the same complaints were being said time and time again and I acknowledged that. I also acknowledged that I have to make changes be cause of brexit too. What really really surprises me is so many people complaining and wasting energy on a result they cannot change. You included. You are clearly intelligent and have honestly held views and opinions. However your washing your hands approach seems to conflict with every thing else you have posted on here.

That was after you continued to frame the debate in a "you" and "we" status, after I'd told you it wasn't like supporting a football team and gloating in the face of whoever'd come away with a narrow defeat. If that is the attitude of Leave voters getting on for four months after the referendum then frankly I'm surprised you'd think the likes of me would be inclined to be conciliatory.

If someone took away something that you personally held dear for what appeared to be no good reason, they then proceeded to act in a sneering and often obnoxious way, then asked you to jump on board to help fix their mess, how open to that prospect would you be? To reiterate, EU citizenship is/was something that I felt was very important, in two and a half years I won't have it any more through no fault of my own and won't be able to get it back. I can't just forget that's happened and say "what's done is done".

I repeat this thread is toxic and serves no purpose any more. It is no longer about ideas and debate. You do your things I will do mine.

Britain’s biggest companies are being frozen out of crucial discussions in Brussels, sparking fears their international operations could face swift “policy punishment” over the decision by voters to leave the EU.

Senior executives across the spectrum of industry sectors have told the Sunday Telegraph that they are now struggling to speak to EU officials, despite having operations and partnerships worth billions of euros on the continent. It came as the urgent need for more trade and diplomacy expertise in London is sparking broader fears about the clout British companies are able to draw on further afield.

The Brussels representatives of some of the largest FTSE 100 companies are finding that calls go unreturned, discussion papers are not shared and invitations to key meetings are no longer extended. One source said: “We’re finding now that nobody will take our calls. Britain is still a member state but we can’t get a hearing.”

Another experienced Brussels operator at one of Britain’s biggest global players said UK officials inside the European Commission were also being excluded, making it doubly difficult to hold any sway.

Rings of the "go back to Africa" line so many white people here use.

Sounds to me like they're using their time in more profitable ways.

Or simply , it's the fact that the big boys at the top have no idea what is going on, and thus they have no idea what they can discuss or not.

Typical EU confusion.
