The Holocaust never appeared in any election manifesto.
Have you been on Godwin's Ale this afternoon?
The Holocaust never appeared in any election manifesto.
The massive difference being, of course, that the Tories are in power. The mess that is the Labour party is a complete irrelevance to what is going on and basically only of use to people like Frank who like to use them to derail any discussion about the direction of his favoured party. You could of course make the same case for jeremy Corbyn couldn't you? Doesn't like people in his party that think differently and has teams of people acting 'independently' to put pressure on using violence in some cases. Oh and you could always just sack your political opponents in your own party because, y'know, they have a different opinion and champion other MP's in the party.
Of course the Tories, as unpalatable as they are at the moment aren't anywhere near the Nazi party and nor is Labour, but you carry on.

The FTSE is at a high because many of the Companies have an overall value in US$. Therefore if the value of the pound falls, the share price has to rise to compensate.
Isn't the point that a party whose language and policies can be so easily compared to the Nazi's are almost certainly on the wrong track and hardly shows the folk who support them in the best of lights?
or the £uk denominated asset has simply become cheaper for any foreign investor, hence demand & price goes up
Some of the biggest FTSE Companies are the oil giants (always valued in $us) or the big mining conglomerates (valued in $us as the rand is a $#@!e currency). BP hasn't fallen in value here, but the pound has, so BPs share price rises to compensate.
For me, in addition to the above, this, and ultimately camerons legacy will be an extremely negative impact on public political debate. What we have seen for almost a year now is a political debate that has descended gradually into bigotry. It has legitimised people like farage and his followers to put up vile posters, behave xenophobically, and generalise and stereotype in phenomenally vile ways.
The public has seen this behaviour, and adopted it themselves. It has legitimised them to publicly start announcing they have got their country back, and we can send em all back home. And that is a total disgrace.
And it is getting worse. Look at some of the conservative conference this past week. Name and shame companies with non-british workers? $#@!! Why not make them wear yellow armbands for christs sake.
I am becoming ashamed of what people put forward as political debate nowadays.
Germany boomed under fascism. That was the spike downwards this morning, it did bump back up. We have been on a massive downward trend all week, mostly due to the fascist rhetoric and pie in the sky talking coming out of Birmingham:
The government, not the citizens.Germany boomed under fascism.
I think that has particularly irked me as well Dan. My kids will always have a harder time now than I have because of a bunch of narrow minded idiots and that's a $#@!ty thing to happen. I pointed this out to a friend of mine who voted out and he said it was rubbish and he genuinely believes that the kids (his are similar ages to mine) are better off out! It's bizarre thinking.
This particular friend highlighted a problem I have with many that have voted out, in that, they have never traded with Europe and only ever leave to go to England-on-Sea. Not even a City break or work call with a European. It stinks of Little Englander syndrome.
Your kids will have a hard time? Try living in the eu with your kids. Ireland's $#@!ed, Spain's $#@!ed. Greece is $#@!ed. Greedy bastardy buying everything up and feathering their own nests. Swanning around in Brussels. Bastards. $#@! the eu.
Stick your patronising $#@!e up your arse. Christ.
