Note to self, don't joke about relegation
You need to pop a chill pill sirActually, if you and Tony read the thread, you'll know that wasn't actually my point.
I questioned (to Andy) whether he was advocating slagging off any manager we get until they reach Nuno levels of achievement (cos that's what it seemed like he was saying)
For people to be saying now that none of the fretting and criticism (some justified and balanced) is in any way meant as anything other than more displeasure at Bruno (the overlord, I think DW called him ) and his appointment is ludicrous.

Chill pills are overrated, anyway. I'll bring some better stuff when I visit. So much advice on this thread. Lucky I don't skim read or I'd miss it all
Under Nuno you always felt we could grind out results. There’s little evidence Lage can do the same. If we have to sell to buy and end up with no takers for Neves or Traore and thereby have to go with more or less the players we have now I’m far from confident we’d beat the likes of Norwich and Brentford. We covered less ground than nearly every other PL team last season and unless there’s a dramatic and unexpected change we don’t look like we’ll be able to press teams so our defence will come under a lot of pressure and I think we all know that with a back four that won’t end well.
Alternatively you could quote people and tackle their comments rather than making generic comments based on little to zero fact
Plenty? Go on…Plenty of results that didn't get ground out last season.
Three preseason games seems a fair sample to say the new man can't better that though.
Well they lost almost 50% of the games.Plenty? Go on…
I agree with most of this except a disrupted pre season. Sure you’ve got a few coming back slightly late but in general this is a great opportunity to embed what you want the team to be able to do over the course of the season. The early games are fairly meaningless other than for minutes, the training is more important at this point.I said when Nuno was still here that it was likely to end in his sacking by October.
Now given pre season has basically been a handful of first team players and a load of shite probably not good enough for the championship, then there probably wasn’t much he could do in the first few weeks.
He’s literally only had the Portuguese contingent and Donck for the last week and Traore and Coady are only just now joining up. Podence is still injured, Raul is being eased in and Sa has just come in.
The team he has available is weaker than the team that got schooled by United reserves in a game where the players should have been fully motivated.
So I’m not going to start worrying. It is probably going to have to get worse before it gets better. Particularly if signings are coming until the end of the window (or at all…). If it doesn’t look like getting better then he will be sacked.
He’s been dealt a bit of a shit hand here though. Pre season disrupted from the Euros in an already small squad lacking quality, which had gone stale with a board reluctant to release funds and injured players.
Well they lost almost 50% of the games.
Eh? I never said relegation that I remember? One person spoke about relegation (Paddy) a couple of months ago and I believe has walked that back since, certainly nobody has today. I mentioned Nuno in the context of us needing a centre half under him and still do, it certainly wasn't in some sort of whimsical way. That wasn't a criticism of Bruno if anything it was a qualified defence.
Is that aimed at me? You didThat’s a complete fucking lie
No agreed this is a good time. A preseason is better than no preseason. But you can’t start criticising him (not you), when he hasn’t really had time to actually fully implement it.I agree with most of this except a disrupted pre season. I felt the same way about this before Nuno was even sacked too before someone says something boring about us not being consistent on this
