Pre-Season 2016/17 Season

Thrilling set of fixtures so far. KJ has moaned in the past about the calibre of friendly matches, nothing seems to have changed.

Or he's realised that the way he has us playing, that's about our level.

We are playing three games away against sides in the league below us and a home game against a PL side. I'm not sure we are likely to get much stronger matches in reality.

Indeed, unless you go on a tour somewhere in Europe (which I would if I were the club, but they know best) then not sure what else you can do. Loads of the PL are away on tour themselves in July.

Crewe were relegated last year so not factually correct, but my point remains the same. Derby go on foreign tours to Austria and the like and win games 13-0, I'm not sure what you gain from that.

Sure Kenny can fill in the details (as he went...the loon) but I think we played pretty strong opposition when we went to Norway in 2004.

yeah, definately i would go abroad too..shows a bit more ambition and excitement

Tromso
Bodo Glimt
Lyn

All were top flight teams and in the middle of their seasons. Perfect teams to play against really as they were match sharp so it was a proper test for the players

Good man, I couldn't remember the teams.

If Vio hadn't got crocked and we'd signed Booth instead of Björklund...who knows.

Booth - A player that Paul Jones had no idea about. Played v Tromso and 33 mins v Bodo (subbed because he had a flight to catch back to the Ukraine or something) and looked very good.

We also had another centre half (think he signed for Preston and won their POTY) he was a bit shit and DJ wanted an extended look at him so he fooked off.

Youl Mawene. I always thought he was pony for Derby so wasn't fussed about him.

That's the chap. Could see why DJ wanted to keep for him an extra week but of course he then goes on to win POTY elsewhere

We had Adrian Iencsi for the home friendly vs Man City and he was brutal.

Björklund had basically retired before we got in touch with him, I will never understand why DJ thought that was a good idea. He was quite a strange man sometimes though.

Joakim Björklunds asset was speed, not much else..patrik andersson far better defender

When we signed him his speed had long gone

Youl Mawene was an absolute camel.

There was another shite CB from PNE that we were linked with but I can't remember his name.
