Pre-Season 2016/17 Season

I wouldn't read too much into that. One small bet and we would be up to 20/1 sixth or seventh favourites.

What it really shows is that the division is expected to be absolutely wide open.

If not a lot changes then the first thing I'll do at the start of August is be looking around for three teams worse than us before anything else.

Easy.

Burton - will be miles out of their depth, have really limped over the line

Can't see Millwall or Barnsley doing anything other than fighting relegation.

Rotherham - doubt Colin will stay, even if he did they'll struggle

Fulham - car crash of a club who won't magically improve especially now they're on reduced parachute money

Blackburn - total mess, financial disarray, about nine contracted players

Leeds/Forest - run by lunatics, never going to do much while that's the case

Huddersfield/Bristol City - poor teams as it stands, need significant inprovement

Reading - actually seem to be a slightly worse version of us

If we had Dicko and Graham available for the majority of the season (maybe add Willo to that too) we shouldn't really be in any kind of relegation trouble, even allowing for Ken being Ken.

Any out of contract players from Blackburn worth looking at Deutch ?

I'd be more than happy to back us at 33/1. Burnley showed last year that being obdurate and hard to beat in this division is half of the battle.

Not as far as I remember, their forward options are even worse than ours (Chris Brown FFS!). Ben Marshall is good when he's not playing at RB or been eating too many pies but I think he's still contracted.

Huddersfield could do well next season, Wagner is a good coach, they're picking up some decent players from Germany and have a few class young players coming through as well.

Chris brown had the beating of our CBs all day. I thought he looked quite a handful.

Might be more of an issue with our defence than his ability. Whoever we were sporting up front at the time made him look like Zlatan.

He's 32 and has a record of 0 goals in 41 games for Blackburn, so draw your own conclusions ;)

If Benitez stays and is given a free reign I think it'll be Newcastle and two others.

They'll also have first dibs on any young players Liverpool want to send out on season long loans

I'd expect Norwich to be in the mix throughout the season as well, as long as they don't do anything stupid like sack Alex Neil.

Judging by Sheji Ojo, that may not be a good thing

I disagree on Newcastle I think the Championship is going to hit them like an anvil dropped from space. They have ability no question but last time correct me if I'm wrong they had the likes of Barton and Nolan who were perfect to help win this league. I think complacency could be a factor for them and I will be very interested to see how they get on.

I also predict Villa will go down again they really are a mess.

How are Fulham longer than us? 17th and 20th in the last two seasons. But no, they'll definitely be better next season on half the parachute money.

As for Blackburn being longer :icon_lol: Ok then.

Plus Preston in the bottom three.

Massive over-round there from Sky. The pessimists on the forum should be able to get 7/1 eventually...

Paddy Power have us at 33/1 to win the Championship. Joint third last with Preston.

What the fuck are those Preston odds about? They had a good season last time out.

All shows the bookies know fuck all about the Championship. We will be boring lower mid-table but we won't be in danger.
