Shearer's Saturday on today's Rest is football podcast.

Flight to Newcastle cancelled - no others that evening.
One train left with tickets available - Dashes from Heathrow to Kings Cross to get on it.
Managed to get a seat before it fills up with Sunderland fans heading back from Portsmouth.
Four Hours of derogatory songs about him and Newcastle as he sits in his chair with a hat on and his head down. :ROFLMAO:

Only recently discovered this. Pop music journalists go through random old episodes of TOTP. Fabulous.

I did think it was a funny story, but Sunderland fans on the same train seem to think he's exaggerated it a bit.

If old pop music is your bag, my mate does the Giddy Carousel of Pop podcast, which is devoted to Smash Hits. They've had some good guests on over the years, Miki from Lush, Helen O'Hara from Dexy's etc. https://giddypoppod.home.blog/

I've been listening to a lot of episodes of the Real Dictators podcast recently. Paul McGann narrates it really well (he also does an excellent D-Day podcast). Some of the dictators I knew well, some I knew nothing about. The Hitler episodes in particular are really interesting.

Karl Marx must be close to being responsible for more deaths than any other human in history.

I'm involved today in recording a podcast called Toy Business Unboxed. I get to talk about what it's like being an Indie board game publisher and our journey so far. Not one of great interest to many people I imagine! 😂

Garys economics is really interesting and really explains well why wealth inequality is a thing and how damaging it is

I like Stewart Lee and I like Harry Hill but which is better?
There's only one way to find out!

There's a really interesting series (to me anyway) on the Rest is History podcast atm covering the Islamic revolution in Iran.
If you can put up with some of the inane 'banter' from the presenters its a good listen, especially given recent events.

“I’m not one to criticise the hardworking team at Wolves, because I’m good mates with them”.

Liam Keen opens his podcast with refreshing candour today.

Defended Shi for years, now doesn't have a good word to say about him

He also talked about how tough it was for Wolves during the Lopetegui period with PSR and that's why we didn't sign Alex Scott.

Without going over old ground, we bid for him, the bid was accepted, he agreed terms. So he really wants us to believe all that happened and then an accountant popped up and said hold on a minute? Alternatively, Shi went to China for his annual meeting and was told the budget was slashed and pulled the deal, or if I remember correctly, just went off the grid

Yep.

Was nothing to do with PSR, it was Fosun, Shi then hid behind PSR like the slimy snake he is.
