PNE (H) 21/10 Build-Up Thread

Just spoke to a Fulham STH who was at the match on Saturday, he said Preston play in a very similar style to Cardiff, press high up with some dark arts mixed in. Said that Daniel Johnson was particularly adept at the off the ball stuff. Let's hope we have a better ref than we did earlier in the season.

Or equally that we have learned the lesson taught by "Professor" Warnock.

Amazingly managed to squeeze my old man out of retirement to go this game! He's not been for 4 years, but after watching us on tv last week he's got the bug again.

Their main gripe from a quick read of their forums is that Preston were feigning injury and time wasting.

That was a big part of what enabled Cardiff to win. It makes getting an early goal a massive help

Cardiff did a job on us. Others may do the same. But I have seen enough to know that in 7 times out of ten this squad is capable of overcoming such tactics

Will be interesting to see Preston approach on saturday. Friends of Fulham had a thread called 'PNE are bloody cheats and they deserved that'.

They definitely weren't happy about the approach, singling out Hugill for particular ire for the use of his elbows. Other than that it seems to be mostly about time wasting and feigning injury.

Guess the aim is SCORE FIRST, then this approach doesn't work.

Anyway, managing to come up for my first home game since Boro, so hoping for the right result. Need to see this revolution for myself.

This is brilliant. The fact that fans want to go again because they can see what is happening and how good we are and can be. Fair do's to everyone that had to watch the shit we've served up over the last couple of years too but the club had to do something to get others back and it's working. Hopefully the place is buzzing again for Saturday.

Totally agree with this - it's great news! Is the giant slumbering bear that is Wolverhampton Wanderers finally awakening from its long, long winter hibernation?

I did have to pay for his ticket though, tbf he bought me season tickets for 12 years so can't really complain :)

Ticket purchased - North Bank Upper. There really aren't that many tickets left - it's going to be another big crowd. Superb that the fans are embracing the positivity around the place.

Looking forward to arriving at the Western on Saturday morning....

I'll be in Center Parcs in the Lake District this weekend with the kids & grandkids, so can't make it. I'll be glued to my phone, waiting for notifications ... :D

You'll have a long wait in Center Parcs signal is pretty much none existent

Steve Martin the ref, reffed the Bristol City game recently... couple of iffy decisions IIRC? (Didnt make the game)

So pissed off I can’t make it to this one.
