PNE (H) 21/10 Build-Up Thread

We saw from the weekends match highlights how Preston pressed as a group to take away Kevin McDonalds time on the ball, something they will try again against Ruben Neves next weekend.

McDonald always bricks it when you press him, I'm amazed all teams don't do it. He's not comparable to Neves, you can stick a man on Ruben all you like and he'll just play. Scholes-esque in that respect.

Can't make this one, gutted considering how much fun Saturday was. Fulham will be my next game.

I thought Bristol City flooded the central part of the pitch against us at times taking away the space we use to open up the game. Preston will look to do much the same.

We absolutely battered Bristol City. I'm still trying to work out how we didn't win that one

Easy. We had a mare at defending the 2nd ball in and around our penalty area.

Decided that I'll buy a ticket for this one. I fancy a day out at the football this weekend.

Preston are a good side - it'll be a tricky game but I'm hoping our current form and momentum will be enough.

Pre/post match ales, gentlemen?

Possible start in the London and first call Boho after the game. My brother is down again too. He really needs to dispense with the "fake" Chelsea supporting and come over to the realization that he loves Wolves! :icon_lol:

Wow just like my mate Darlo. Chelsea fan, whole family are Wolves. He's coming with us Saturday too. He loves it

Barnsley did much more to close us down and stop us playing than Bristol I thought, they forced us into plenty of mistakes.

He's been a Chelsea fan since the early 70's so I let him off ;)

I don't deny it will be a tough game (they all are in this division, to be fair), but looking at Preston's results, they've drawn games against Boro, Barnsley & Millwall - all of which we beat, and they've lost to Derby - again, another team we have already beaten this season. However, they did manage to hammer Cardiff, and they've held Leeds to a draw - so their form shows they're difficult to beat and can raise their game against the better teams in this league.

If we can get anywhere near our performance levels v Villa, we should still win.

I agree with this. And I would add that after Saturday's performance in front of the cameras that most teams will raise their game against us. We have the ability, but need to be prepared for sides playing above themselves.

Room for a little one?

Think it was Leeds at home, which was it utterly forgettable!

A while ago then! Will be in by midday I think so just drop me a text on Saturday and I'll confirm where we are mate

Attendance set to be over 27k this weekend.

Are Preston in the corner or Bully lower?

Their allocation was 2.5k so lower Bully. They've sold 1300 so far.

In fairness two away games in successive weeks isn't easy on the pocket, and Fulham is a much better away day than Wolves.
