PNE (H) 21/10 Build-Up Thread

The IQ of the average football fan from Wolves is quite low so doesn’t surprise me. Chavs giving away fans grief at games is common place all over the country. Having more home fans at a game means you’re more likely to get more grief.

Plus I’m not bothered about what away fans think about us. We know pretty much nothing about them, can’t say I’ve watched a single minute of their games. They also know nothing about us.

Never seen any aggro outside Molineux before personally but obviously that’s not saying it doesn’t happen. I don’t know why people can’t just go to a match to watch it instead of looking for trouble.

Preston will give us a tough game but hopefully we can beat them. The service to Jota, Cav and Leo will be key I reckon.

I actually feel a bit sad reading other fans' experience of us and it not being pleasant.

Also, I have very little issue with Barkuizen's comments. £40m isn't quite true, but the sentiment is fair. We really should go up given our spend. Nothing like giving us a point to prove pre-kick off though.

The figures are off though we have spent a more than fair amount - albeit very well which not all other clubs who have spent as much have done.

Should that get you promotion - from the Championship that is never a given as so many teams are in the mix as potential promotion candidates, but have to be at least in the mix as a good shout for it otherwise the spending will have been paid out on the wrong choices.

You go on any teams forum the week before they play us away from home and there'll be some arsehole moaning about how they got spat on by the Steve Bull upper the last time they were at Molineux. It's absolute horse shit. I don't deny that it has probably happened once or twice in the past during a big derby game but why would the Steve Bull upper (which is almost exclusively full of pensioners and children) feel the need to spit/piss on Preston North End fans during a nothing game while we were in League 1?

If you go to Sheff Utd or Forest their away ends actually have nets over them so that home fans can't throw anything down. You never hear fans saying the same shit about them.

I spent a few years in the John Ireland in the early to mid nineties and never saw anything like that happen to be fair.

My uncle used to piss on people back in the day. However he actually resembles Shadrach Dingle so that goes fine with what they've said.

They can man mark Neves all they want. Doesn't bother him, he'll still want the ball.

Agreed that so much of it is shit (we do have some moronic fans but so does every club - our idiots are now either fat 50+ year old men who still think it's 1985 or rat faced yoot who are simply laughable).

Whenever we play a big club or a team with a questionable reputation there's always talk of their "top boys" who "haven't been for years" coming to Molineux. Yeah right, whatevs. I'm quaking in my boots. A load of bollocks last week about how Villa had loads in the home areas, what really, when you needed a purchase history to get a ticket? Lies made Baby Jesus cry.

It wasn't pleasant before the Man Utd cup game outside the Steve Bull in 2006 but that's the last time I saw any kind of trouble around there.

Molineux is not a dangerous away day, it's a rubbish one because you can't get in to drink anywhere and we stick the travelling fans in the worst bit of the ground, but that's not my problem.

Never understood why its quite such a lockdown on that (possibly due to the fact that I don't live locally) - it's a pain when nowhere will let you in anywhere before the game.

Have been to away games where I have been in mixed pubs without any real problem & had chats with fans of the opposing team. Not sure why we should be any different. There will always be some places to avoid (& that's the case whether you are a Wolves fan as well), but there are enough establishments around the town to cater for all.

Everywhere's bloody busy enough at the moment and away fans have an unerring knack for standing in the way, they can stay away :D

It's a shame in some ways but it only takes one dickhead to have a pop and it all kicks off.

That's a fair comment, but a depressing reflection of mankind

Then your uncle's a cunt and not welcome at a football ground. Disgusting behaviour from any adult.

£40m is not far off though is it?

Costa £13m
Cav £7m
Neves £15.8m
Coady £3m
Saiss £1.8m
+Marshall
+Miranda

Coady was £2m and it's probably not fair to go back that far, we bought him over two years ago under a completely different owner! You wouldn't look at our squad in 2011 and go "Jody Craddock, £1.7m".

The implication is that we've spent £40m in one go which we haven't (Villa actually did spend a lot more than that last summer, not that it did them any good and nor did it really attract much comment for some reason).

Need to deduct the sales figures off that - think we brought in £8.5m from Dicko/Bod & Edwards in just this year. Pretty sure others have spent similar amounts & we have saleable assets for that payment.

Yes, but as far as opposition fans are concerned, they just look at the players Wolves are likely to play against them, and what they cost. Whatever you think of their comments, £40m+ is not far off, and it will hopefully get more after January. :)

Just done a long winded piece on this and my bloody internet crashed!

According to Transfermarkt, Sheff Wed have spent €41.06m since the summer of 2015 (around £36.7m). Maybe they should be winning the league as well...

Leaving from the South Bank/Steve Bull side this season, i have so far seen trouble against Boro,Millwall and Villa...this is just walking back for the bus/car.
This is down to the scrotums that doss around the ring road/coach park (and some very 'orrible Millwall fans)

Radical thinking: Keep the away fans in* for 10minutes and clear any undesirables...jobs a good un.

*Before anyone says human rights etc...football fans are already treated like cattle so whats 10 minutes gonna do?
