Paul Lambert Leaves Wolves

He signed Hause and Evans for us. Whatever you think of them as players that was some handy business for under £500k the pair.

If that's where his focus is then fine.

It does seem that's what he's going to be doing, spotting young talent in this country because he does have a decent record. With Jeff taking a more hands on role and Mendes with his contacts along with Nuno having an input which i think he will then Thelwell will probably not be needed that much in terms of first team recruitment.

And Ronan probably Iorfa as well (can't be arsed to Google) as a recruiter of young talent he's good. Someone I know has confirmed that and also said in his opinion he knows he's overpromoted but couldn't say no.

I accept what you say, and many would agree that my bumps need feeling... But if his influence has been massively reduced, why not just pay him off with the other members of the coaching staff?
Something there that Fosun like probably but if any of the old guard play next season (And they will as we ain't signing 20 players) then it will because the new man has picked them. Thelwell will have zero input...not that I think he has had any say on team selection previously.

Just listened to Charles Ross and his take of the situation on WM, anyone tell me why i did that because i really wish i hadn't now. Never heard so much bullshit.

My Portuguese mate is messaging me to say we should be avoiding Nuno and that he is just another crap Mendes man, however he is a Sporting fan and particularly hates Mendes and has been warning me from the start we'd become one of his bastard cancer clubs!

He doesn't have the context of having had to struggle through supporting us though so doesn't appreciate that I don't really care!

I think the Portuguese probably feel Mendes inhibits the development of their young talent by shipping them all over the world nearly on a whim. I imagine that goes doubly so for a Sporting fan since that club takes such pride in its homegrown players.

I deliberately turned off. I know what he said without having to listen to it and I'm sure Paul Franks was in agreement. Those that have been anti Mendes from the start like he has will only look at the latest situation from one angle, it's like they want the club to fail so they can say I told you so. The irony is he's now the type of doomonger he used to criticise in ALOB.

What I don't get is how much criticism they're getting at this stage. If we're still here in 12 months and another 2 managers down then by all means give them hell but I can't recall local media holding Moxey up to this level of scrutiny.

That's something that confuses me about Ross, in ALOB he was pretty balanced and generally positive. He seems to have shifted stance to being a doom and gloom merchant.

Either way, PL didn't do enough to induce hand wringing panic over his departure from me. Though there is an element of a gamble on Nuno, specifically over him being the 3rd appointment in a short period of time and if it doesn't work out then Fosun will deserve criticism.

What they are showing is they are ambitious and want the club to progress, not stagnate. It is actually refreshing to see that they are not afraid to have a bit of a clear out. They gave the old backroom staff a chance as did 2 managers. Not enough progress if any in some areas meant they got binned off. Last summer they signed players and most of us were excited with those signings even if they didn't ultimately all work out. Cav, Costa have been successes and Bod is loved even if he can't score in a brothel. I suggest we get ready for few more comings and goings. This lot won't fuck about.A number of the current first team squad should be concerned, quite rightly, for their place.

Watford had three managers in a season but got promoted.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying bringing in someone with Nuno's reputation and history is the gamble. Just that if a third manager in less than 1.5/2 seasons doesn't work out then there is scope for criticism and that's the risk element.

I wonder if there's a certain element of getting managers here who are right for the job at the time - a bit Watford-esque really. With the state we were in last season post-Zenga, Lambert probably was the best choice to come in and steady the ship.

An awful lot of doom mongers on social media again, lots of people saying it's the Bhatti brothers mk2 which is blatantly ridiculous, and the abuse I got for pointing out that was a stupid statement, and then got even more when he said we need proven championship experienced warriors to get out of this league, and I disputed this as well.some of our fans are right dicks

I still find it amazing how different the view can be from our fans, depending on where you look.

I'm not sure Facebook is a true representation of the 'average' Wolves fan, but then I'm not totally convinced TWF is either. I'm sure it's somewhere in the middle.

Unfortunately, it comes with the territory of owning a football club, that every decision you make will be scrutinized/criticized and - heaven forbid - occasionally praised. Fosun would have been well aware of what they were getting themselves in to when they took over at the club. They won't be making these decisions on a whim (and lets be fair, this decision is probably the first time they've been able to step back and collectively assess the situation before making their move), so at the moment it's up to us to trust they know what they're doing.

And if Average Joe supporter writes a few angry posts on Facebook, I'm sure they couldn't care less. As get us to the Premier League next season and Average Joe will be the first one running on the pitch to celebrate.

Only the odd twitter moron on my timeline the rest, even the weapons grade wankhammer Danks is positive about this. It only seems the media types and media brown nosers like Feilden (another Spiers-esque spunkbubble) are the ones that are bent out of shape and miserable about this. Anybody would think they have an agenda.

I don't do facebook so can't comment on that.

I would say on this one the split is around 75 / 25 in favour of the decision from what I have read.

No matter what decision a club makes there will always be voices against it but this one seems to be more on the side of positive for a change.

More than anything it depends who the manager is, it seems it will be Nuno in which case I would be amazed if anyone is against it. Fosun are clearly ruthless businessmen and that is why they are so successful, translating that into football doesn't always work but it is fairly clear what the thought process is and I find it very difficult to play devils advocate and argue against it.

My levels of optimism for this season are rising, once we have our man I might be obliged to post the South Park picture of Randy again xD

Fielden wrote a blog last night which was fairly anti-Fosun. He claimed that people who work in the industry might be more objective than the average Wolves fan. Based on him and Spiers I'd argue the opposite is true. How critical of the team can you be when you're tweeting first team players every 5 minutes? Spiers and Stearman are practically a couple.
