O'Neil Confirmed

Smith seems to really dislike us, wonder how quick it would take for him to have a go at the fans and vice versa if he was ever appointed.

I could totally see us appointing Smith :(
I can't see that, he's a serial failure, same as Lampard.

There will hopefully be more managers willing to move in October/ November when sacking season comes around.

What would the alternatives to a Smith be?

Going back to Mendes - possible if Shi panics and demotes Hobbs, but we know the options aren't really much more inspiring than the Smith etc route

Unknown foreign manager - difficult to see us going down this path and certainly not one in employment

The Beale type option - it's the one I'd try, mainly because the unknown is more attractive than the known, but is a McKenna, who'd be my top choice going to come? I doubt it. I suppose Rob Edwards falls into this category, but as in this scenario his Luton team has at least got a draw against us I don't see it.

Graham Potter redemption tour - he's already knocked offers back so is being picky, difficult to see our current strategy unless it has another of its 180 degree lurches appealing to him.

So essentially it is very likely going to be someone not currently on the manager merry go round. Hasenhuttl would be my choice.

I'm from Curborough and the Dimbles mate, as working class as they come 😘 and didn't touch an avocado till I was in my 30s 😅

Yeah I know, the mean streets off Eastern Avenue more likely to be buying knocked off gammon from a bloke in the Dr Johnson

Mate, i could tell you tales of my street/s growing up that would make your hair curl... Violence, incest, child abuse (physical and sexual), fatal arson, sectarianism, drug abuse, foreskin ripping... a far cry from cobbled streets and Fabricunt!

The sectarian part in Lichfield is something that goes under the radar, I don't know if its still a thing, but my wife as a kid used to get a fair amount of verbal abuse from other kids for going to St Joseph's and was still something brought up when she went to King Edwards - a school full of stuck up, snobby little twats, or at least was. Anyway I'll stop derailing the thread.

Being a Fenian (and living near Nether Stowe school) I had to get a fucking coach for 40 mins every day to get to Aldridge, there were older twin lads who lived a few mins away from me in Lichfield who had a reputation for beating up Catholics with cricket bats and frying pans (I know). I never crossed paths with them, and it undoubtedly had a bullshit element to it, but I remember the fear vividly! Not exactly Belfast I guess, but still weird...

edit... I'll stop derailing the thread too...

Got called it several times as a kid and using it descriptively/ironically now, no offence intended?
