Because we beat Bolton. the Burton win at Sunderland means Sunderland are relegated.

They can still get to 40 points, but have Fulham away, and us at home left.

Yes but Burton v Bolton next week means at least one of them gets to 41 points

They’re not, they can still catch Bolton and have a better goal difference.

EDIT: I could be wrong, haven’t long woke up.

It’s because Bolton still has to play burton, so they’re down down down.

Burton play Bolton so one of them will reach 41 points, Sunderland can only get 40, they are relegated

Can somebody please explain how Sunderland are relegated?

Bolton play Burton next both can’t lose and a draw will mean they can’t catch Bolton.

Highlights are on the Sky app for those that have it. Coady’s ball to Afobe and Neves to Costa are sublime.

P.s, I fast forwarded to the end and never read the posts before Sniffer’s, lol.

Well that was rather good, we made it look so easy. Bolton came out of the traps very fast pressing us, after 10 minutes they were knackered and from there on we just pounded them bit by bit. Costa, Afobe, Jota seems to work wonderfully well and although I dont think it was a penalty it was wonderful to see Coady score a goal.

MOTM - Costa

Champions!!! I have a game in the morning but the urge to drink is strong!!!

Phil Parkinson:

"I thought we started well in the game. We pressed them well but lapses in concentration have cost us in that first half.

Wolves are a team who punish you. I have seen them a lot this season and if you do switch off, they will take those opportunities.

I have seen them do it against many teams where it is just one moment where maybe a lesser team with lesser forwards wouldn’t take those opportunities. They did today, and it became a very long afternoon after that."

On Wolves' title winning performance…

"They are an outstanding team. They are a team way above any other in this league. They have players going to the World Cup and have spent plenty of money as we all know.

I think as their team stands now, they will be top half Premier League side."

That pass from Coady and the touch from Benik to take it around the keeper is quality.

Don't think I've ever been as contented with a win.

Destroyed them for the second time and we could've gone for 5,6,7 if we wanted. I hope they can't recover from this and it destroys their morale. Ive far more antipathy to these than Blues.

Costa was my MOTM, had the full back beaten everytime, unlucky not to score, maybe in the first half he could've had better decision making on one occasion.

Neves ball to Costa for the third was sublime yet becoming a 'standard' pass. Thought Afobe was right up for it too very good, excellent touch to take him round the goalie but what a pass from Coady who Im delighted had his 'Ricketts moment' with the penalty.

If Gibbs-White was an inch or two taller it really does ice the cake when he slides in the 5th. Agonisingly short. I love this kid, everytime he receives the ball he takes it away from his opponent and into space and is already so intelligent and maturing. He's still going to grow and develop and I look forward to seeing him at 21 if he carries on at this rate.

Today isnt the day for negatives so won't dwell but thought Batth was shaky in the first half, if all you want is a head and block it defender he'll do ok but I think he kept getting dragged back into the middle and he was quite far away from Doherty even when Doherty was back. Generally I thought he was much better in the second but that coincided with Bolton abandoning all hope.

All in a top day, fans were awesome. Had to laugh when the Wolves fans in Bolton Corporate made themselves known and Bolton's schooligans went over to gob off at them.

Love this team.

Don’t you just love society. All these “hard men” giving it large from the safety of a brick wall. When they first brought the flag out out and all the youths from the corner ran over there to start chucking bottles. Oxygen thief’s.
