Norwich (A) Build-Up Thread 21/1/17

Cav & Doherty play keep ball on the edge of the box, but for far too long - ball needed to go in at some point

Norwich end up winning it back & launch a counter - blocked off, but we need to do something with the ball rather than just mess around with it.

Neigbour came to the door just before that so no idea what happened - they should know by now not to call on a Sat when Wolves are playing

Wolves say - Howson 25 yarder smacked the bar and Naismith put away the rebound
Tim II says - Howson 25 yarder smacked the bar, Stearman headed it straight at Naismith who put it away

Ikeme saves & Stears clears away from Howson after Jerome runs quickly at the defence - all came from Cav giving the ball away

Sounds as if the latter is over complicating things and losing possesion too often

Short delay as Brady gets treatment - sounds as if he is stuggling somewhat

Bod released on the right - good run, but little in the box to support him

Mason gets there, good defending from Tettey blocks off any potential shot

We need to get more onto the front foot if we are going to cause any problems - only 2 up on a break isn't going to give us that much opportunity

Hello Peter, Got delayed down on the beach with daughter.... Can I join in?

Wonder what effect Swansea whipping Liverpool will have on the Scousers?

Wolves break with 4 up, but Cav manages to find Howson who was one of the only two Norwich players anywhere near the action

Norwich's forward swapping over and causing us a bit of consternation as Murphy comes and smacks it against Doherty but it's out for a corner...
Wolves on the break and Cav running clear..... looks up and.... passes it to the only Canary in sight.
Then Iorfa has it but puts over a shocker...

Ref wants a chat with all 10 players crammed into the 6 yard box to try to stop the gripping and pulling and shoving...
Cav belts it high and really wide from the corner.

Lambert giving a talk to Weimann & Bright as they go to warm up - suspect we may see a change after half time

Stears puts in one of his trademark blocks after Murphy is given the freedom of the Wolves penalty area - saved us there

Costa not getting that much space, but gets a cross into Mason - good take & shoots, but over

Costa not getting much of the ball this half, which is remiss of us

Naismith racing away down the right and a cross is whipped in to Murphy who's shot looks good till Stearman does one of his trademark full flung body blocks and the ball is cleared.
Wolves not picking up these dangerous forwards in the 18 yard box.
Batth has it and looks up but Iorfa hadn't made any sort of movement and left Danny in the shit. No angle for Batth to pass to so it messily gets cleared. Batth now has to try to bring the ball out himself because again Iorfa isn't giving him any options.

Mason has a chance there but the ball clears the bar with the keeper covering the angle.
An oooOOOH...Awww moment there

Bod wins the ball again, but no one gambling that he will so he is totally isolated

First half ends - not that great, but only 1 goal so all is not lost

Half time . Not playing anywhere near as well as we have been.
Seems that Stearman tried to back head it away when it came back off the bar, for Naismith to smash it in.

Seems that there is no link up between the middle and Bod + Mason.
Iorfa keeps racing away and frequently too far from Batth to release the ball to him forcing Batth to bring it out himself or just lump it up...
So Who's on the other side then?

I'd be getting Bright and Evans on for Mason/Cav and Edwards.
