Norwich 2 - 0 Wolves: The "It's probably not as bad as it seems" Verdict Thread.

Blackburn are only 3 points behind us if they win their game in hand, I'd worry about them more than Brentford.

There are eight teams standing out in this division. We are at the moment the eighth of that eight. By May I expect us to be seventh. Let's see what we do in the summer.

We spent £2m on Afobe less than a month ago. Such shallow pockets....

Yes, Pad, but we clearly needed more than just Afobe. We seemed to be interested in a few players but, as is becoming a habit, we failed to make any more signings. The lack of attacking options on the bench says it all. There's something not right. However, we can 'cement' our place in this division with what we currently have, but we're not anywhere near good enough for promotion. We have too many players who are inconsistent. For instance, on a good day, Sako can be the best player in the division, but he has too many bad days. VLP lacks consistency, too, along with Stearman (requisite one mistake per game) and Edwards. We have a lot of 'average' players. We're not going anywhere, but it's no reason for pant-wetting. I'd have taken this position in the league, at the start of the season but, like many others, I was rather taken in by our 'falsely-high' achievements until the 'November blip'. Rebuild in the summer.

Stearman has been the outstanding defender in the division for some time. What "requisite mistake a game" are they playing on Cairo TV?

This could we'll be the first time in many years where we aren't battling for something with 8-9 games to go.

To be fair we weren't really battling with that many games left in the last premier league season!

We don't need a 'rebuild' we just need to continue growing as a team and adding a couple of quality players in positions that require it.

He can be brilliant, but his mistakes are costly. Cairo TV is crap, by the way and if you go to watch a football match, here (Zamalek are my local team, you will have seen them on the news this week) you are likely to get killed or blown up!

I agree gradual growth no more than three signings per window is enough.

Our next three games are all winnable, it's not unreasonable to suggest we could win all of them. That would set us up for a tough March fixture list with some good form behind us.

I don't think we will be miles away but we will just fall short.

Looking forward to coming 'home' next week and going to the Rotherham game. I'll be pleased to see a repeat of last season's 10-goal thriller! Not building my hopes up, too much, though. As we showed, today, we are Wolves without a sharp set of teeth.

You are so wrong. We'll hammer Rotherham, wait and see. If Norwich hadn't had such a poor manager in charge for most of the season they'd be walking this division with the squad they've got. Any team that takes a point away from Carrow Road for the rest of this season will have done a bloody good job.

Let's hope so! It's going to be less risky than watching Zamalek!

I said this morning that I think Norwich will go up via the play offs, so losing is no surprise and not too concerning. The performance does concern me though, which appears to have been poor, which makes that about 5 of the last 6 games. I hope KJ doesn't talk about a lack of intensity again.

Dicko seems to have dropped behind Afobe which given he was so pivotal to our play just a month or so ago is surprising.

Norwich are a much better team than us. This result is nothing to get depressed about.

This in spades and move on- outplayed outfought and beaten by a better team and by a team than often does us at their place so not getting stressed about this one. Expected nothing got nothing move on

Trouble is, I don't know what to expect. Take each match as it comes, I suppose. Today was disappointing, but it sounds like we were beaten by a better team, so.........on to the Rotherham game.....who knows?

We got beaten away from home by a good team, no shame in that and nothing to panic about. I agree with the consensus that we'll come up a bit short in the end this time around, probably finish 7th/8th which is slightly better than my mid table prediction at the start of the season. My only worry is how we apparently offered nothing today at all and barely even had a shot. Hopefully we can go and get some goals and a couple of wins at home now.

I said the other day on a different site that I was really pleased with our season, even if we finish where we are now, and that I didn't think we would realistically beat anyone above us. It's part of why I would have been keen on us selling Sako during Jan and bringing a longer term replacement in with the money.

Said it before I know but its the games we threw away that will cost us a play off shot not defeats at teams like Norwich. Millwall and Reading throw aways really get me as does the abject defeat re forest but hey ho we are pretty much where I though we would be. I didnt expect us to win at Watford or beat Boro at home or stuff Huddesrfiled away. Thats what is great about football. We need to win 10 more games to have a playoff shot. Brighton, Wigan, Fulham,Rotherham, Leeds, Sheff Wed should be six. Then its four from the rest and a few draws. I can see us beating Watford and Ipswich at Home and getting something from Bournemouth away. Cardiff away away could be another point as could blues away. Likely to lose at Boro and Derby could do us at home but we might take a point. That leaves us close with the other games we have so no not cuttiing my wrists yet. Just dont cock up against the strugglers like Millwall at home
