Manchester City (A) 14.01.2019

Referee gave the red not for excessive force but because all the City players surrounded him and he rolled round like a little cunt. Yellow yes red absolute Bull Shit. Even before that we were being cut to pieces and we were lucky they decided to saunter through the second half to conserve their energy.
I know I'm old fashioned but the penalty was also a joke made worse because the first "contact" was Sterling.
All in all I'd like to thank Craig the cunt for ruining the game that a lot of people had been looking forward to.

The hypocricy is astounding Ryan touches the diving cunts legs deffo pen. Somebody pushes Traore 2 yards deffo canny play yeah fuck off.

Can't wait for VAR cus a lot of the top 6 get so much rub over a season it might actually even out. Sterling, Kane, Sallah et all ....diving bastards.

Regardless of red card or not when you're that far from goal on the touchline why tackle like that, why lunge/dive in like that when if you win the ball its only going to shoot off in any direction ?

Because you are in a competative game not watching from above in a helicopter. Its rash but he aint got time to do a risk assessment plus when he got the ball the guy was miles away he's followed in to get this result.

Boly didn’t need to dive in, could have just won the ball easily on his feet.

No idea what Bennett Is doing. Just had to step across Sterling and it runs through to Rui. But once he gets round him I have no idea why he flails a leg no where near ball.

But then Sterling keeps going a step or two, kicks the ground and takes a dive

Yeah he might have done I haven’t seen all the angles as was at the game and was baffled how Sterling managed to get in front and win a pen from a nothing situation. It’s piss poor defending which makes no sense. None of it would have happened if he just steps across and then when he doesn’t do that don’t have a nibble at a ball miles away from you.

Letting Sterling get the wrong side is a mistake but from there he could and should have just left well alone. As ever Rui was out quickly and that situation was going nowhere fast.

I think both the red and the pen are home decisions. Never they are stonewall but if they happen for us at home I would be screaming for them so I can see why they were given. No excuse for the Traore push. That's almost assault

Im sorry what ? helicopter, risk assessment, what are you talking about ??

"Its rash but he aint got time to do a risk assessment plus when he got the ball the guy was miles away " that sentence contradicts itself.

What I'm saying is, it all boiled down to poor decision making, if he had of got away with it, you'd have had a ball that could have gone anywhere and your left centre back lying on the floor against a team that move the ball so quickly.

The
Shock report! bloke in team down to 10 men after 19mins away from home who enjoyed 23% possesion fails to outshine his opposite number. Remarkable

I’d ignore that it’s by Jamie Jackson who’s a complete asshole regularly on Alan Brazil show and thinks he’s something.

With both decisions I agree if they were at Molineux I think you end up with a Booking and no penalty. Regardless of the red card I still think we’d have lost the game. City were 1-0 and well on top at the time, yes things could have changed and we’ll never know.
I agree Boly didn’t need to make that tackle there, regardless of whether you think it’s red or not you are giving the ref a decision and always running the risk away from home.

Both Spurs and Chelsea were similarly 1-0 up in the first half and cruising against us, we were definitely still in the game.

Tbh, I think that if it was City none of the decisions would have been the same.

It was a very poor decision and your last point is spot on.

The stupid directive is "excessive force" and/or "out of control". It was neither.

Won't get overturned though.

I'd accept that if Bernardo happened to be on or very near the ball when the tackle is made but he isn't, he's a long way away (in relative terms) and remains a long way away when the ball is won.
If a Man City player made the tackle, I don't think many on here would be saying it wasn't a red. It was aggressive, he could've won the ball with a lot less force IMO.

Almost home from the meeting as well.

It was mostly a corporate event organized by Fosun's Portuguese branch and corporate partners. Couple regular fans like me but nothing to shout home about.

Decently and neatly organized, very nice sports bars (mental note to take visiting people there) and had a few scarves and shirts around. I'll post some pictures later.

Had a chance to talk with the Fosun rep at the event. Nice, down to earth gal. Saw the Everton home game at the stadium. Said this one was meant as a trial and that they want to make this a regular thing. Took my phone number to keep me in the loop.

Basically, a decent night out to watch Wolves. Definitely going again whenever they repeat the initiative.

saw the pictures, this is the same bar I won the PS4 FIFA competition in when I was there. Thats how I won the Benfica tickets for Mo. It really is a small world!

He didn’t need to Dive in. This is the frustrating part. He could have simply gone and passed the ball to Jota (I think) and we were on the counter.

I think his rationale was to get in there and poke the ball to Jota as it wasn’t really a contested challenge. But he should have done that standing up.

It was one of those where you have seen yellows and red's given for them. In real time it looked worse as he hit him fast and with some force and his studs were showing even though his foot wasn't high. The problem is whether you think its a red or not it's giving the ref a decision to make. It's got no chance of getting overturned.

If it had been the other way around and a Man City player had made that tackle, I would still have thought it was a harsh decision. It should have been a booking. Having said that, if one of their players had taken Jota out like that then it would never have ended up as a red card anyway.

No complaints about the penalty decision, though.
