If the ball in is that good then the style of marking means fuck all, to be fair.

Not at all. If you're marking man for man, and doing it properly, then you've got the same run as the man you're marking regardless of where the ball gets played so it's an even playing field, if they drop it right on you then you're both battling it out with a standing jump, if it's overhit then you're both wasting your time. If you go zonal and there's 10 yards between you and the man you eventually end up dueling it out with then the flight of the ball can massively favour one party above the other or it can drop somewhere neutral and you both get chance to attack it just from different starting positions.

There was one in the first half where Kompany got a clean run from the edge of the box as he ran from Neves' zone in towards Bennett but luckily in that instance the ball wasn't right on Bennett so he at least had a chance to step out and meet Kompany to an extent so whilst he still lost the header at least he could challenge enough to make things difficult, if that ball in had an extra yard or two on it then Bennett would've been pinned to the spot and Kompany probably jumps miles above him for an easy header.

Boly poor for their goal. Too static and didn't attack the ball in at all.

Neves gave too many free kicks away round their box as well which led to their goal. It was coming from the amount of them we gave them around the box.

Traore did really well when he came on, one dodgy pass backwards aside.

Surprised by his two interviews on today's coverage how good his English is, especially when you compare they had the interview with David Silva completely in Spanish and he's been over here for years now! Obviously it's not the be all and end all but that's surely got to help him settling in.

No way I would criticise anyone after that some very good, very expensive sides have been seriously spanked by Citeh and we had a go and could have won.

Traore as an impact sub is a great weapon (I'll ignore the backpack)

So many good performances but I think Boly gets MOTM for me.

Moutinho, Rui, Jonny & Jimenez look to have settled quickly and we're all brilliant. Just need that first win now!

I am just thrilled to see a wolves team go toe to toe with the best team in England and get a deserved point playing proper football. Sure we got lucky with the goal but we made that luck with skill, effort and endeavour. Patricios save was just out of this world. Castro Otto looks class. Boly brilliant apart from the goal when he was a bit flat footed. Decent effort from Doherty today too.
Jota and Neves need to stop giving niggly fouls away.

Can't wait to give lsm some stick!

People writing about negative incidents in the game shocker. This isn’t news. Move on.

I shouted at Jota/ Costa / Neves et al at the game today because they gave the ball away. Doesn’t mean I’m negative, you just don’t have a dictaphone synced up to this place today.

No one got under 7/10 today. Good performance.
