Loan Watch 2020-2021

I’m a bit worried we may be a bit stuck anyway. Haven’t Huesca got an option to buy? If they have and we get no say in the matter then surely the fee we agreed pre loan is going to be something minimal?

They could do an Afobe and buy him for the agreed price and then flip him for more.
Maybe, but trying to predict that Mir would have got double figures in the top league when he went on loan last season would have been tricky.

Not something we can wring our collective hands about too much.

Option to buy at £10m isn't it? If they can afford to do an Afobe, let them I say

Not going to be too fussed about it, just makes all the discussion a waste of time doesn’t it.

Haven’t seen that. Spiers spanish football mate seems to think he’s worth somewhere between £10m-£15m currently, but I haven’t heard if we’d agreed a fee in that region. Would be crazy if so because we loaned him to them as a second tier side and they don’t have that sort of money.

Having what on the face of things is a ridiculous option isn't that unusual. Vinagre had something like £25m on his Olympiakos loan

I'd give him preseason to prove it, he looks a bit of a blunt instrument in the highlights this season but he's proving to be effective with it. I certainly don't see how he can be any worse than a non-existent player or a wad of cash. Might not make a like for like replacement for Jimemez but there might be enough to work with.

Think it's a bit premature to just be writing him off completely and taking whatever money someone might offer for him. Look how Jose has turned out with a half decent pedigree behind him, why give yourself that job to do again if you already own someone as able and willing to do that job?
The Jose argument supports selling him rather than keeping him imo, given their similar LaLiga records. As for the.£10m not being able to get you anything, in isolation yes, but if that increases the budget for a position from £20m-£30m then it makes a difference

I mentioned this before but I know my Forest STH mate from work will be laughing and joking with me about Mir scoring again when we are back at work after the Easter hols, apparently they have been monitoring him in their family chat as they felt he was one of the worst players they have seen.

If Mir came back, he may settle a bit easier now there's Spanish speakers in the squad, he's a bit older as well, might have just been a step to much going abroad to here last time

Apparently Sanderson is out for the rest of the season

Just been sent this message from a Sunderland fan friend of mine, apparently been carrying something for a couple of weeks

Rafa Mir was absolute dogshit for Forest - but then he was also played on the right of a 3 a lot of the time.

Interesting article on Huesca and some coverage of Mir's exploits with a few comments from the man himself. Even if they go down sounds a really positive place to live and play.
