Live Match Discussion 2024/25

Those aren't pumps, pumps in an English context are more like what would now be called plimsolls I think.
Also when I was a kid, farts were referred to as pumps.
Welsh call them Daps, or did when i lived and worked in Cardiff. That was a long time ago

As with most things, it depends on the context.
Pumped can relate to sexual activity.
Pumped can also mean "I farted" (I pumped, or I did a pump)
Pumped can also mean I was outclassed by the opposition.
Yeah we used pumped as Kids, farted was considered swearing by my Mum and Dad, its one of the words that has changed over the years Farted is now more accepted.
My parents also hated Tom Tit, which was a surprise considering she was East End Of London, All Be it moved to Wolves atbthe age of 3 or 4 in the Blitz

I can see the perspective nevertheless the nonsense with sectarian behaviour isn’t exclusive to just Glasgow the Edinburgh Derby runs along similar lines although not as severe as does the Dundee Derby.
I did not know about the Dundee Derby, Hibs Hearts I knew was.

Had a mixed bunch in for the Dundee derby, family and Friends and it was generally a lot more respectful than the Old Firm, with that game If it's a mixed bar, I have to be out on the floor to keep a Lid on immflamatory language from both sides,

I dont get that with any other game. It annoys me sometimes.
1. As a catholic
2. My Wife is Catholic, and Celtic, as are her Siblings, tho Karen cares less about football than anyone I have ever met.

The atmosphere tho is generally better if I have some Celtic fans in, because the regular Rangers fans know i demand no Sectarian language when the bar is mixed.
Thonbecause i am known as the closest thing to a Rangers bar in Fuengirola, I do get some trouble with Celtic fans on none match days , will get a group coming in just to cause shit.

Strange as there is a massive Wolves Flag under the big screen, Wolves memorabillia all over the bar, and I get Albion, Villa, Blues, and Coventry in just to have a laugh and joke usually at my expense, and always wearing there tops.

Dundee derby is a lot less involved in sectarian, does have some roots with Utd being more catholic associated.

When is handball not handball... I just don't understand the game anymore. OK, the Spurs player kicked it against him but the deflection led to Newcastle getting the ball and scoring. I've seen goals ruled out for far less.... but that said, LOL @Spursy.

This is part of the ridiculous tinkering and periodic ignoring of common sense by PGMOL, FA, PL, UEFA and FIFA.
There was a reason why it was called 'deliberate handball' rather than this retrograde outline rubbish which results in so many attempts to force a handball through kicking the ball deliberately towards where hands are hanging.
There is also a reason for consistency on throw-ins and encroachment from free kicks, protests from players, etc.
It's a shambles.

Being the cure to any side’s extended run of bad form never looks good, even if it’s City.

Well it’s all gone our way today. That 3rd relegation spot is really only between ourselves, Everton and Ipswich. And I think we’re a better team than both with VP in charge. Everton would be ideal just for laughs

Everton will surely be replacing Dyche.

Zero shots on target today.

GO should be charged with something for letting them score 4 against us

Villa gifted their winner by some awful defending. Although had to hold on at the end as Leicester tried to fight back.

Yep it's a pity Palace got something but I think they'll be safe anyway. I know it's fantasy but it would be delicious if either Utd or Spurs got dragged down into it. God knows how West Ham are so high in the table.
