I agree with @HanDoJin and @Donegal Wolf posts, put it this way I view this Saturday in a similar way that I view an international break ie we’ve not got a game I know we’ve got one in a literal sense but the outcome is so obvious it’s pointless getting excited about it.
Dont get me wrong I want us in the PL as long as possible nevertheless the thought of relegation isn’t as dreadful as it was about 3 years ago.

This, I had exactly the same conversation with a Forest supporting colleague at work on Saturday morning and he basically said the same word for word. His shifts finish at 230 so ordinarily he's straight out the door and home to watch a stream but such was his disinterest he went out with his mates instead and gave the game zero thought.

The talent is so disproportionally distributed now in the EPL, and there's so little competition for football in England that it's doubtful anything much will change. Especially given the ownership models.

I watch a ton of baseball+, and every MLB team* has at least a couple of absolute superstars. Really good players the like of which you'd only see at Champions League teams in England. The Angels have, easily, the greatest player of the 2010s and probably the greatest player of all time and they are just horrible. Can say similar for all 30 teams. Cannot imagine ever seeing Mbappe/ Messi/ Bellingham level talent stay at Everton, Wolves or Southampton for more than a season if they somehow unearth an absolute gem.

Course I'll watch English football forever, it's where I'm from. And course I'll always want Wolves to be in the highest division possible. But it's just not an entertaining league for me.

+bite me, I love it.
*franchise. Ugh

Totally irrelevant point, Mike Trout is an Eagles fan.
Slightly more relevant point he earns in LA what he would at Houston, just picking last years winners, that's not the same in football and success isn't cyclical in the same way either. If the Baseball salary cap is similar to the NFL you couldn't just sign a team of top players you haven't drafted without making compromises, again not the same in football. I guess I'm agreeing with you, but giving context

He is indeed. Such a shame for the sport that he appears to be so hopelessly boring. He should be a household name like LeBron but instead he’s stuck in Anaheim

Anyways, lots of tripe in the league this year. The 3 new teams are all wank. Bournemouth still crap despite the swanky new coach and throwing money everywhere. Brentford are nothing special and could easily tank. Us, Everton, Forest, Fulham largely rubbish but have more than enough to stay up.

Dendoncker still as shit as ever... Everton 1-0 up.

At least we haven’t become a club where our ex players immediately start pulling up trees when they leave.

First Clássico of the season coming up tonight at 8:15pm. Benfica should win, Porto have been incredibly lucky so far this season, they're bedding in a few key players and Conceição has been messing around with the formation at times as well.

Sunderland running rampant at Sheffield Wednesday tonight, 3-0 up in 30 mins.

It's shit to be a Wednesday fan, must be 20 years now since they were last in the PL. The longest time of any team I'd consider to be 'big'. Early days but looks like they are back off to League 1, whilst paying borderline PL prices to watch the privilege

99/2000 was their last top flight season

We just passed them on the all time Prem League table. We just hit 393pts to there 392pts. Which is at least interesting to me as the two teams have never coexisted in the Prem together.

So they are already 4 years over our famous 19 year banner

Yeah Forest had 23 years out also, Ipswich will be 22 years at least. Derby will be a minimum of 17 years.
For all the hype Leeds get they’ve been outside the top flight more than they’ve been in it.

The real tough case is Oldham. Premier League founders, but tomorrow find themselves away at Wealdstone!
