But if you are in ninth, everyone above you gets an absolutely hideous cup draw which will probably allow you to catch up the tanked points as they will have to go strong in rounds 3 4 and 5.

Again , hyperbolic over-reaction. backed up by a floored statement. In truth you know that the football pyramid no longer allows for winning on merit , but for the best team that money can buy. Leagues 1 and 2 are the only leagues now that can be won on merit. The championship is being won mostly on the back of parachute payments and the premier league is going to the billionaires, Sheiks and Olligarchs of the big. English Football should not be about how much success you can buy just because you can. FOSUN have seen just how big the gap is and have decided not to finance the purchase of players needed to give Wolves a chance of bridging that gap consigning us to the tag of also rans. Newcastle have decided that they are up for it and the next 5 years will see if they go to the big 7.

If you want to see leagues won on merit then its Cambridge or Northampton to follow and hope . There are exceptions, like Leciester but otherwise its pretty rigged.

Both had been in the PL a number of years making the numbers up. Doing that is a pretty meh existence once the novelty has worn off. Trading that for a day at Wembley, winning a cup, Europe and everything associated with that is a fairly easy decision to make. Obviously at the time they wouldn't have envisaged not getting back there a decade later

It was because the GK shirt for my school was gold and black and THEN they won the league cup some 6 months later , so you stick with the team when youre a kid dont you.
The point was that choices in places like Cambridge are 90% about the profile of the team when youre a youngster. In the 70s the profile of plenty of other teams was up there with teams that are big six now including Derby Forest , Ipswich , Norwich, . But you know that. You like to shrug your shoulders and pretend you dont understand when you do , its like canned laughter on a sitcom. You are one of the people complaining about price incresaes with no visble additions yet you ridicule ideas that could help end a monopoly that I think is killing the game. That I dont understand. You and some others not seeing that monopoly is killing this game seems very strange.

What they are not saying is that the money in the game isn't skewed. There's been lots of suggestions all over this forum for many years.

I look forward to your ideas on how to change the monopoly on English football. Very quick to criticise but very lacking in ideas for change. At least I am brave enough to , 1. Admit there is a problem and 2. Come up with some thought as to how to try and address it.

How about.... The higher your wage bill, the fewer players you can field at kick off. The team that takes the field has to have a cap of £500k a week salary between them.

The issue is that would disclose players wages and that wont ever happen in any detail unfortunately. Its thinking outside of the box which is always good to get some chnage.
